एक रेस्टोरेंट में पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए डॉ वाजपेयी ने प्रदेश सरकार पर हमला बोलते हुए कहा कि सत्ता के दबाव में जिले के अधिकारी जिला पंचायत सदस्यों को उत्पीडन कर सपा प्रत्याशी के पक्ष में वोट डालने के लिए दबाब बना रहे है।
डॉ वाजपई ने राज्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त को पत्र भेजते हुए मांग उठाई के यदि उन्होने इस मामले में स्पष्ट निर्देश जारी नही किये तो कल चुनाव आयोग को भी घेरने को मजबूर होना पडेगा।डॉ वाजपई ने सरकारी मशनरी के आरोप लगते हुए अनेको उदाहरण भी दिए |

[New Delhi]Ex-Def Secy RK Mathur Sworn In as Eighth CIC
Former Defence Secretary RK Mathur was today sworn in as the eighth Chief Information Commissioner by President Pranab Mukherjee at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan
62-year-old Mathur, a retired IAS officer of Tripura cadre, completed his two-year fixed tenure as Defence Secretary in May last year.As the CIC, he will have a tenure of about three years, till he attains the age of 65 years.
The oath ceremony could not be held earlier as the President was on a southern sojourn for 14 days and returned on December 31.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led selection committee, which has Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and leader of Congress party in Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, as its members, had last year on December 16 selected Mathur as the new CIC.
The Central Information Commission has been headless twice since the BJP government came to power in 2014. Earlier, it was without a chief for nearly 10 months after the completion of the tenure of the then Chief Information Commissioner, Rajiv Mathur, in August, 2014.
It again fell vacant a month back following the retirement of Vijai Sharma.At present, there are seven Information Commissioners — Basant Seth, Yashovardhan Azad, Sharat Sabharwal, Manjula Prasher, MA Khan Yusufi, Madabhushanam Sridhar Acharyulu and Sudhir Bhargava.
The Commission is made up of one chief and 10 Information Commissioners. The posts of three Information Commissioners are still vacant

Congress leader and former Speaker of Punjab Assembly Harnam Dass Johar today passed away due to old-age related ailments.
83-year-old Johar was admitted to a local hospital three days ago for some infection. However, he was discharged last evening.
Later, Johar was cremated with state honours at Model Town area here this evening. A large number of people including Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, MLAs Surinder Dawar, Rakesh Pandey and Bharat Bhushan were present on the occasion.
Wreaths were laid on his mortal remains on behalf of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, and by senior BJP leader and former minister Sat Pal Gosain on behalf of the BJP.
Vimal Sumbly, media advisor of PPCC President Amarinder Singh paid tributes to the departed Congress leader on behalf of his party’s state president.
Meanwhile, expressing grief over the demise of the former Punjab minister, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in his condolence message said Johar always conducted proceedings of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha with impartiality and performed his duties as minister with absolute ability.
Badal said that during his tenure as minister for higher education, Johar strove to ensure that the benefits of higher education reached all sections of the society.

Arunima Sinha, the amputee mountaineer who set a record by climbing the Mount Everest, has added another feather in her cap by conquering Mount Aconcagua in Argentina.
Arunima, in a statement, said she started her mission on the morning of December 12 and hoisted the Indian tricolour on December 25.
Aconcagua is the highest mountain outside Asia, at 6,960.8 metres, and by extension, the highest point in both the Western Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.

Celebrated Funnyman Pratap Fauzdar says the popularity of the comedy genre on the small screen has turned comedians into stars.
The winner of laughter show “Great Indian Laughter Challenge” said before getting recognition on television, several comedians did stage shows in musical orchestras just as fillers.
Speaking To PTI Fauzdar Said “They were asked to do comedy so that the singer could take a break between two songs. Now, the same comedians are celebrities,”
The stand-up comedian feels that increasing stress in life has made people incline towards comedy on television, leading to a sudden spurt of this genre of art on the small screen.
“Whether on small screen or even big screen, comedy will always be there. When there is more tension and stress, people like to get happy and seek pleasure. It is not that the comedy is developing. In fact, people are in stress now, that is why they are finding peace in comedy.
“Comedy is in demand, that is why there is more production of the comedy (shows). This is the reason you will find several (such) shows across the channels,” said the actor, who is known for his political satires through stage shows.
Fauzdar was speaking on the sidelines of a show in which he performed recently.

[अमृतसर,पंजाब] एसजीपीसी ने नए साल में वर्चस्व का अहसास कराते हुए पांच प्यारों में से चार को बर्खास्त किया एसजीपीसी ने नए साल की शुरुआत में ही अपने वर्चस्व का अहसास कराते हुए पांच प्यारों में से चार को बर्खास्त किया और एक को सेवानिवृत किया|
शिरोमणि गुरूद्वारा प्रबंधक कमेटी [एसजीपीसी]ने नए साल की पहले दिन चार पंज प्यारों को बख्रास्त कर दिया और पांचवें को सेवानिवृत घोषित कर दिया ।इस बख्रास्तगी को पलटवार के तौर पर देखा जा रहा है, क्योंकि पिछले सोमवार को पंज प्यारों ने एसजीपीसी से कहा था कि वह एक जनवरी तक पांच तख्तों के जत्थेदारों को हटाए ।
बीते 23 अक्तूबर को जारी किए गए अपने पहले के ‘गुरमत’ का पालन न करने को गंभीरता से लेते हुए 28 दिसंबर को पंज प्यारों ने कहा था कि एसजीपीसी की ओर से एक जनवरी तक जत्थेदारों को हटाए जाने के बाद वे दो जनवरी को सिख समुदाय के भविष्य के कदम के बारे में घोषणा करेंगे ।
मीडिया में आज जारी किए गए एक लिखित बयान में एसजीपीसी के अध्यक्ष अवतार सिंह मक्कड़ ने सभी पंज प्यारों को ‘‘वेतनभोगी कर्मी’’ कहा था । उन्होंने कहा कि सेवा नियमों के साथ-साथ सिख धर्म के नियम-कायदों का ‘‘घोर उल्लंघन’’ करने के कारण चार कर्मियों को बख्रास्त किया गया है ।मक्कड़ ने कहा कि भाई सतनाम सिंह, भाई तारलोक सिंह, भाई सतनाम सिंह और भाई मंगल सिंह को बख्रास्त कर दिया गया है जबकि पांचवें कर्मी भाई मेजर सिंह कल सेवानिवृत्त हो गए ।
बहरहाल, एसजीपीसी ने सेवानिवृत पंज प्यारों के खिलाफ किसी अनुशासनिक कार्रवाई का जिक्र नहीं किया है ।

Suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists from Pakistan on Saturday attacked an Air Force base here, killing two air personnel while four terrorists were killed in an operation that lasted more than five hours, an attack that comes just a week after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an unscheduled visit to Lahore
The air base is located near the border with Pakistan
“The gunbattle between terrorists and security forces ended after more than five hours,” Punjab Police ADGP (Law and Order) H S Dhillon
“However, the area was not sanitised yet and the combing operation continues,” he said
As per Defence Sources More Terrorists Are Suspected to be Hiding
At least four to five militants, believed to be from the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist group, in army uniform launched the attack at 3:30 AM with an aim of destroying the air base, a top security official said
Security forces are on the look out for a possible fifth terrorist so that no collateral damage is done, police said
The terrorists, with huge quantity of RDX in their possession, made their way to the base from the back side where there is a jungle,
Authorities said helicopters and other equipment at the Air base are safe. The technical area of the Air Force station is safe, police said, adding the entire area has been cordoned off
Pathankot SSP R K Bakshi said four suspected militants were killed in the battle.Two jawans were also martyred and six sustained injuries
The attack was launched soon after a combing operation was carried out by the army on Friday in the area between Air base installation and Chakki river, police said
The attackers were met with strong resistance from the security personnel, who were already alert to the possibility of an attack, top sources said in Delhi, adding that the terrorists, therefore, could not enter the air base and managed to reach only to the langer area on the outside
Sources said that a co-ordinated counter operation supervised by NSA Ajit Doval was launched to neutralise the terrorists
Security establishment was already on alert and anticipating an attack after an SP of Punjab Police was abducted by a group of men in army uniform on Thursday night
On Friday, a series of meetings were held by NSA with army chief and top IB officers in this regard. Subsequently the army was put on alert and NSG commandos were rushed to Pathankot overnight.

S Javeed Ahmad[IPS] Is New Director General Of Police Of UP

Uttar Pradesh government today appointed 1984 batch IPS officer S Javeed Ahmad as the new Director General of Police.
Javeed Ahmad who was posted as DG Railways has been made the new DGP of the state, Principal Secretary Home Devashish Panda said.
Talking to media after his appointment, DGP Javeed Ahmad said he would lead the force with full honesty and dedication.
“With the help of constables, inspectors and higher officials I will work towards restoring the confidence in the police force”, he said, adding that efforts would be made to inculcate a feeling in them that they have to do something good for the state.
Javeed Ahmad succeeds Jagmohan Yadav who retired after completing 32 years of distinguished service yesterday.
Yadav was 1983 batch Indian Police Service officer and appointed as the DGP in July last year.
