Punjab Health & Family Welfare Minister, Punjab directed Designated Officers of Food & Drug Administration to step up surveillance and monitoring specially for milk and milk product as the festival season is going on.
Health Minister Surjit Jyani asked the officials to increase the sampling of eatables.
Minister further asked the Health Department officers to ensure that synthetic milk or adulterated khoa etc should not be sold in the market.
He appealed people to immediately inform the toll free helpline no 104, in case they notice any unhygienic food items being sold anywhere in Punjab

राष्ट्रीय आयुर्वेद दिवस के अवसर पर आयुष मंत्रालय द्वारा 28 अक्टूबर 2016 को ”आयुर्वेद के माध्यम से रोकथाम और मधुमेह के नियंत्रण” पर एक दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का दिल्ली में आयोजन किया जाएगा
डॉ जितेन्द्र सिंह इस समारोह का उद्घाटन करेंगे और आयुष मंत्री श्रीपद नाइक इस कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता करेंगे।
केंद्र सरकार ने धनवंतरि जयंती के दिन प्रत्येक वर्ष राष्ट्रीय आयुर्वेद दिवस मनाने का निर्णय लिया है।

Pakistani High Commissioner’s Subordinate Detained For Spying
A Pakistan High Commission staffer was today detained after he was found in possession of defence documents while two others were arrested on espionage charges,
Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit has been summoned by the Ministry of External Affairs.
On intelligence inputs, Delhi Police Crime Branch took the staffer identified as Mehmood Akhtar in custody.
He was released after questioning as he enjoys diplomatic immunity,
The Crime Branch also arrested two persons, residents of Rajasthan, for allegedly passing on sensitive information to the staffer.
“The spies are residents of Rajasthan working for Pakistan’s ISI. The spies were in touch with the staff here at Pakistan High Commission and were providing sensitive information,” said a senior police officer.
Those arrested have been identified as Maulana Ramzan and Subhash Jangir.
In J&K Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire, shelling over 15 Bops and 29 hamlets with mortar bombs and firing from automatic weapons in R S Pura and Arnia sectors along the International Border in Jammu district.

Union Railways Department, has decided to grant 50% concession to pilgrims attending birthday celebrations of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji at Varanasi.
This decision was taken by the Railways Department after personal correspondence and a series of meetings by the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal with the Union Railway Minister.

The Punjab government has waived off the loans of 1653 debt ridden deceased scheduled castes worth Rs. 11 Crore raised from the Punjab Scheduled Castes and Land Development Finance Corporation.
Punjab Scheduled Castes and Land Development Finance Corporation provided the loan on subsidized interest rate to the poor and the handicapped belonging to the scheduled castes to start their own venture.

Govt Agencies have completed 70% procurment against their declared target of 50 K MT
The Government agencies have procured 34546.69 MT pulses- Moong+ Urad as on 25.10.2016 during ongoing Kharif Marketing Season (KMS).
FCI+NAFED+SFAC are procuring Kharif pulses from the farmers to ensure MSP for their crops in pulses producing states.
So far, FCI has procured 8166.71 MT,
NAFED 23510.13 MT and
SFAC 2869.85 MT Moong and Urad
since the arrival of Kharif crop during ongoing KMS 2016-17.
The Government has set up the procurement target of 50,000 MT Kharif pulses during current KMS for its buffer stock

[New Delhi] PM “Modi” Interacts With Chefs Of 24 Countries
Members of the Club des Chefs des Chefs (Club of Presidential Chefs from across the Globe), called on the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi today.
The Club comprises personal chefs of the heads of state of two dozen countries. It has been informally described as the world’s most exclusive gastronomic society.
This Paris based Association is currently holding its general assembly in India, for the first time. Besides Delhi, the chefs will be visiting Agra and Jaipur as well.
Members of the Club include
Mr. Montu Saini, Chef to the President of India; Ms. Cristeta Comerford, Chef to the President of the USA; and Mr. Mark Flanagan, Chef to Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom,, amongst others.

[मुजफ्फरनगर,यूपी] 26 और सेक्टर मजिस्ट्रेट ड्यूटी से नदारद :तनख्वाह कटेगी |माह के प्रारम्भ में भी 116 सेक्टर मजिस्ट्रेट ड्यूटी से नदारद पाए गए थे|
मतदाता सूची के संशोधन के काम के लिए तैनात 26 सेक्टर मजिस्ट्रेट सरप्राइज्ड चेकिंग के दौरान ड्यूटी से नदारद पाए गए।
जिला चुनाव अधिकारी डी के सिंह ने बताया कि ड्यूटी से नदारद पाए गए सभी मजिस्ट्रेटों की एक दिन की तनख्वाह काटी जायेगी । मजिस्ट्रेट औचक जांच के दौरान ड्यूटी से नदारद पाए गए थे।
सिंह ने बताया कि इन सेक्टर मजिस्ट्रेटों को मतदाता सूची की दोबारा जांच करने और छह विधानसभा क्षेत्रों के बूथ स्तर के अधिकारियों की जांच का जिम्मा सौंपा गया था।
जिले में 8 और 9 अक्तूबर को 116 सेक्टर मजिस्ट्रेट ड्यूटी से नदारद पाए गए थे।
2017 के विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए सभी विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में मतदाता सूची के संशोधन का काम शुरू हो गया है

Cause of the explosion Is yet to be ascertained.
Forensic teams and officers from the Special Cell are on the spot and collecting samples.
Delhi Police personnel have been maintaining a tight vigil in view of the festive season.
