[New Delhi] Cabinet Nod To Hike Allowances Of 775 Parliamentarians
The Centre spends around Rs 2.7 lakh a month on an MP.
As of today, excluding the Speaker, the Lok Sabha has 536 MPs, including two nominated from the Anglo-Indian community. There are eight vacancies.The Upper House has 239 members.
These Parliamentarians are set to get increased allowances with the Union Cabinet today approving a proposal in this regard.
The constituency allowance,
furniture allowance and
communication expenses of the MPs would go up considerably
The parliamentary affairs ministry had proposed an increase in the constituency allowance from Rs 45,000 a month to Rs 60,000.
The ministry had also proposed that the one-time
furniture allowance be hiked to Rs one lakh from the present Rs 75,000.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced in his budget speech that a permanent mechanism would be set up to revise the salaries of MPs every five years, and it would be linked to inflation.

ADG crime cell Anju Gupta has been made ADG, Women Power Line (1090).
The Women Power Line (1090) service was set up by the UP government in 2012 to empower women against all forms of harassment and ensure their safety.
ADG (logistics) SK Kaul has been made ADG crime cell and
ADG, CB-CID Sunil Gutpa has been sent to the Police Academy, Moradabad,
Sikera has been sent to Allahabad as IG (Building and Welfare), while
Vijay Prakash posted as IG (DGP Headquarters) has been made IG (Railways)

organising committee,
a drafting committee and
its four sub-groups, and
a constitution amendment committee
for the party’s upcoming plenary session to be held here from March 16 to 18.In which maximum Stalwarts are adjusted
Former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh is chairman of the drafting committee and
Mukul Wasnik its convener,
AICC treasurer Motilal Vora is chairman of the organising committee and
party general secretary Oscar Fernandes its convener,
The constitution amendment committee will have senior party leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Janardan Dwivedi as its chairman and convener, with 10 other senior leaders, including Ahmed Patel, P Chidambaram, Mallikarjun Kharge and Kapil Sibal, as its members.
The drafting committee has 44 other senior party leaders as its members. It also has four sub-groups on political, economic affairs, international affairs and agriculture and employment.
While A K Antony will be the chairman of the political sub-group and Selja its convener, Chidambaram has been made chairman of the economic affairs sub-group with Jairam Ramesh as its convener and Anand Sharma the head the international affairs sub-group with Jyotiraditya Scndia as its convener.
Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will be the chairman of the sub-group on agriculture, employment and poverty alleviation, with Meenakshi Natarajan as convener.
This will be the Congress’ first plenary session under the presidentship of Rahul Gandhi, after he took over the reigns of the party from his mother Sonia Gandhi in December last year.

As per DGP Punjab Suresh Arora ,The incidence of accidental deaths in the state has come down sharply by 16%. this has resulted in decline of 11% person in injured persons in the state and saving of roughly 4000 precious lives.
Punjab’s Top Cop said that acting strictly against the violators of traffic in the state the Punjab Police has also issued challans to around 7 lakh erring people and recovered Rs 42 crore as penalty from them.
Congratulating the youth which had gathered in thousands, the DGP said it a proud moment for Punjab that a message on importance of helmet was originating from Jalandhar and spreading in whole world with this record attempt of maximum number of people wearing helmets. On the occasion thousands of persons gathered at the venue wearing helmets to spread the message.
The Punjab Police joined in campaign and both the organizations distributed more than 8000 helmets.

I won’t say in front of the Democrats, I’ll just say it to the Republicans — (laughter) — it doesn’t work. But we’re going to have it fixed, and we’re going to repeal and replace. And I think you’re going to see something very, very special”.

A first-of-its-kind Aviation Multi Skill Development Centre (MSDC), was inaugurated in Chandigarh today by the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, P Ashok Gajapathi Raju,
Member of Parliament Chandigarh, Smt. Kirron Kher, and Member of Parliament Anandpur Sahib, Prem Singh Chandumajra. were also present
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Raju said “This Centre which will train about 2,400 youth and women in 8 aviation job roles over the next 3 years has already received a very enthusiastic response.
Located at Chandigarh’s old Airport Terminal building, this Centre will leverage AAI’s existing infrastructure, which has been converted to offer training in modern aviation courses as well as upskilling programmes to empower youth and women in particular. The Centre is equipped with modern training infrastructure to supplement an industry-relevant course curriculum. Upon successful completion of the skill training, the candidates will be certified by NSDC through the AASSC.

Congress has won 62 of the 95 wards. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is a distant second, winning 11 wards while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured wins in 10
The Aam Aadmi Party-Lok Insaaf Party alliance picked up eight wards while Independent candidates won in four wards.
Since counting of votes for the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation election started, the Congress retained a huge lead over other political parties.
Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar and Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu also lauded the performance of the party in the MC polls, which they said marked the total annihilation of the opposition parties in the state.
Opposition SAD-BJP and AAP had accused the ruling Congress of rigging the polls.

Union Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi described the move as a “major step”.
The government today announced a significant reduction in airfare for those going on the Haj, a month after it scrapped subsidies for the pilgrimage.
The reduction will be applicable to passages on Air India, Saudi Airlines and Flynas, an air carrier based in Saudi Arabia, to Jeddah and Medina from 21 airports in India.
The decision to cut airfares will end the “political and economic exploitation” of Hajis “as was done during the Congress-led UPA regime”, Naqvi said.
From Ahmedabad, the round fare this year will be around Rs 65,015 as against Rs 98,750 in 2013-2014. The passage from Mumbai has been brought down to around Rs 57,857 from Rs 98,750 in 2013-14.
The government had in January abolished subsidies given to those on the pilgrimage in view of a 2012 Supreme Court order
