India Recognises UN Restrictions not Repeat not USA

[New Delhi] India Recognises UN Restrictions not Repeat Not USA :Iran
India today said it will continue trading with Iran and Venezuela despite US sanctions
“We only recognise UN sanctions. We do not recognise any country-specific sanctions,” External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said at a press conference.
She made the remarks while responding to a question on whether US sanctions against Iran and Venezuela will hit India’s oil imports from the two countries.
The external affairs minister also said that India does not make foreign policy under any pressure from any country.
Earlier this month, the US had pulled out from the landmark Iran nuclear deal of 2015 under which Tehran had agreed to stop its sensitive nuclear activities in return for the lifting of crippling economic sanctions.
Announcing the decision, President Donald Trump had reimposed sanctions against Iran which were suspended after the nuclear deal was finalised three years back.
The US had also announced tightening sanctions against Venezuela following re-election of President Nicolas Maduro.
Iran is India’s third largest oil supplier. Venezuela is also one of the major suppliers of oil to India.
Swaraj also ruled out using cryptocurrency in oil trade with Venezuela saying the Reserve Bank of India had banned it.
Hours before she held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif
China, Russia and several European nations have been trying to salvage the deal.
Iran had struck the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA) with the US, the UK, Russia, China, France and Germany after years of negotiations.

[Chd,Pb] Capt Express Pain Over Explosion at Indian Restaurant In Canada
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has condemned the cowardly act of terrorism that left around 15 people injured in an explosion at an Indian restaurant in a Toronto suburb in Canada on Thursday night.
Expressing pain and shock over the incident, the Chief Minister said the dastardly attack on innocent people was totally unjustifiable and unpardonable, and underscored the gravity of the problem of terrorism.
The incident, which comes just a month after 10 pedestrians were mowed to death by a van driver in Toronto, had once again highlighted the global dimensions of terrorism, said the Chief Minister, adding that it showed that no nation was immune or safe from this menace.
Captain Amarinder Singh expressed concern over the fact that the blast was targeted at an Indian restaurant, which was frequented mainly by the large Indian community in the area.
The Chief Minister also appealed to the Indian government to take up the issue of terrorism with the Canadian government so that the two countries could work in close coordination in the war against terror.

Karnataka Assembly :Swami Wins Confidence BJP Walkout

[Bengaluru] Karnataka Assembly :Swami Wins Confidence BJP Walkout
The three-day old Kumaraswamy government in Karnataka today won the vote of confidence in the Legislative Assembly amid a walkout by the BJP MLAs.
The motion expressing confidence in the Kumaraswamy government was adopted by voice vote in the presence of JD (S)-Congress coalition MLAs and other lawmakers supporting the government.
The BJP members staged a walkout before the trust vote was taken.
Leader of the Opposition B S Yeddyurappa made a blistering attack on Kumaraswamy, describing the ruling coalition as “unholy”.
In his speech, Kumaraswamy said his government would carry all sections together, and would take into consideration suggestions made by the Opposition.
Kumaraswamy moved the one-line motion soon after the unanimous election of Ramesh Kumar as the speaker of the assembly.
With the numbers game in favour of the coalition, the 58-year old, who took oath as chief minister on Wednesday, looks set to win the trial of strength.
The Congress has 78 MLAs,
Kumaraswamy’s JD(S) 36, and
BSP 1.
The alliance has also claimed support of the lone KPJP MLA and an independent.
Kumaraswamy had won two seats.
BJP strongman B S Yeddyurappa had stepped down on May 19, two days after he assumed office as the chief minister, without going through the motions of a floor test.
The 224-member Assembly has an effective strength of 221. The election for Jayanagar seat was countermanded following the death of the BJP candidate, and deferred in RR Nagar over allegations of electoral malpractice.
