[News Delhi] Startup India Summit in Goa to Mobilize Global Capital for Innovation in India
The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Government of Goa, is hosting the annual Startup India Venture Capital Summit in Goa on December 07, 2018.
The theme of the Summit is ‘Mobilizing Global Capital for Innovation in India.’
The event will showcase the Indian startup opportunity for funds from around the world. The summitaims to attract more global capital into the country.
India has the world’s third largest startup base with more than 14,000 recognized Startups. More than 8,200 startups were recognized by DIPP in 2018 alone, leading to the creation of more than 89,000 new jobs this year, taking the total job creation contribution of recognized Startups to 1,41,775.
Government of Goa is focused on building a vibrant startup ecosystem in the state. It aims to make the state, one of the most preferred start-up destinations in India, and ensure that Goa features in the top 25 start-up destinations in Asia by 2025

On the last day of campaigning in poll-bound Rajasthan, top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Wednesday seized on the extradition of an alleged middleman in a UPA-era defence deal to corner the Congress, which has made a strong bid to oust the saffron party from power in the state.
The Congress dubbed the claims of Modi and other BJP leaders, including party chief Amit Shah, as a “smear campaign” against its leadership, claiming that they were “latching” on to Christian Michel, the alleged middleman in the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland chopper deal, as the saffron party was staring at defeats in the ongoing state elections.
Michel, a British citizen, was extradited to India on Tuesday night and sent to CBI custody for five days by a Delhi court.
At a press conference in Jaipur, Shah asked the Congress to clear its stand on the issue and wondered if the Opposition wanted to save Michel.

As per Additional Director General of Meerut zone Prashant Kumar , protesters from Mahaw village and nearby areas pelted stones on the police and indulged in arson setting several vehicles and the Chingarwathi Police Chowki on fire.
Inspector Subodh Kumar, who was posted at the Syana Police Station, died in the violence,
20-year-old youth, identified as Sumit died of gun-shot wounds.
The trouble started after villagers found some body parts of cow and its progeny in a jungle in Mahaw village
Angry villagers and members of various Hindu groups brought the animal remains in tractor-trolley to the Chingarwathi Police Chowki and demanded action against the culprits.
They raised slogans against the police administration and blocked the Bulandshahr-Garh highway.
Protesters turned violent, pelting stones on policemen and indulging in arson.

Capt Amarinder Singh Correcting Tript Bajwa’s Wrong Doing renominated noted environmentalist Balbir Singh Seechewal as In Punjab Pollution Control Board[PPCB] member, with immediate effect.
Chief Minister has also ordered nomination of two environmentalists on PPCB panel instead of one as prescribed in the earlier guidelines of the Board, so as to widen the ambit of its functioning to tackle the menace of environmental pollution across the state far more efficaciously.
Board would now have two environmentalists,
[1]Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal and recently nominated member
[2]Baba Sewa Singh, the chairman of the Nishan-e-Sikhi Charitable Trust, Khadoor Sahib.
Pertinently, the Board has currently 18 members including chairman, five administrative secretaries from different government departments, five representatives from the local authorities, four members as representatives from industry, trade, commerce and fisheries etc, two members from the state controlled and managed corporations, besides a member secretary.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi said Saturday Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not understand the foundation of Hinduism.
“What is the essence of Hinduism? What does the Gita say? That knowledge is with everybody… Knowledge is all around you. Every living being has knowledge,” Gandhi said at an interactive session in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
“Our prime minister says he is a Hindu, but he doesn’t understand (the) foundation of Hinduism. What kind of a Hindu is he?” the Congress chief said.

Punjab cabinet ministe Bajwa said “If he[Sidhu] does not consider Capt Amarinder as his captain then he should resign on moral grounds from the cabinet and do whatever work is assigned to him by Rahul Gandhi,”Bajwa, who is the state’s rural development and panchayat minister, said Amarinder Singh is our captain in Punjab, he is our leader .
The minister demanded that Sidhu should seek an apology from the chief minister. “He will have to accept Captain sahib as his leader in Punjab,” Bajwa said.
Sidhu’s Jibe at Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, even as the cricketer-turned-politician backtracked on his claim that Congress president Rahul Gandhi had sent him to Pakistan for the Kartarpur corridor event,has created turmoil in Punjab Congress.
Bajwa said Rahul Gandhi remained everyone’s captain , but he disapproved of Sidhu’s remarks about the chief minister.
“Rahul Gandhi is my captain. It is he who sent me to Pakistan. Rahul Gandhi is the captain of the captain (Amarinder Singh) also,”
But Sidhu claimed tens of thousands of people wanted to take pictures with him in Kartarpur and he didn’t know Chawla.
