Mujtaba Hussain has decided to return his Padma Shri award, saying he was not happy with the current situation in the country.
He alleged criminal activities were increasing day by day and democracy has come under threat in the country.
Hussain was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour in the country, for his contributions to Urdu literature in 2007.
He, however, said he would not hold the BJP responsible for the state of affairs and that standards have declined in politics.
As a citizen, I am not happy in the country…mob lynching is happening, rapes are happening, criminal activities are growing day by day in the country, whoever is doing,”

नागपुर के महापौर संदीप जोशी की कार पर वर्धा रोड पर मोटरसाइकिल सवार दो लोगों ने गोलियां चलाईं। इस हमले में वह बाल-बाल बच गए।
हादसा मंगलवार देर रात करीब 11 बजकर 59 मिनट पर हुआ, जब जोशी अपने परिवार के साथ अपनी शादी की 24वीं सालगिरह का जश्न मना एक रेंस्तरां से लौट रहे थे।
अधिकारी ने बताया कि जोशी के 30 से अधिक दोस्त उस पार्टी में शामिल हुए थे और वे सब 10-15 वाहन से वापस लौट रहे थे। काफिले में जोशी की कार सबसे पीछे थे। जैसे ही उनकी कार बाहरी रिंग रोड और वर्धा रोड के एक जंक्शन पर पहुंची तब मोटरसाइकिल सवार दो लोगों ने उनके वाहन पर तीन गोलियां चलाईं और फरार हो गए।
इस महीने की शुरुआत में जोशी को नागपुर नगर निगम की शिकायत पेट्टी में दो पत्र मिले थे, जिसमें शहर से अतिक्रमण हटाने पर उसके गंभीर परिणाम भुगतने की धमकी दी गई थी।

BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar on Wednesday expressed concern over the attack on Nagpur Mayor Sandip Joshi and said this indicated the Uddhav Thackeray-led government’s failure to maintain law and order in the state.
Joshi had a narrow escape when two motorcycle-borne persons fired at his car on Wardha Road here around 11.59 pm on Tuesday when he was returning after celebrating his wedding anniversary, police said.
Raising concern over the incident in the state Assembly, Mungantiwar said, “It is a serious matter that the first citizen of Nagpur has been attacked in this way. This indicates the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government’s failure to maintain law and order in the state.”
The present MVA government has not appointed a full-time Home minister

अब देश के सभी गांव 2022 तक ब्रॉडबैंड सेवा से जुड़ेंगे
केन्द्रीय संचार, कानून एवं न्याय तथा इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स एवं सूचन प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद ने राष्ट्रीय मीडिया केन्द्र, नई दिल्ली में राष्ट्रीय ब्रॉडबैंड मिशन (एनबीएम) का शुभारंभ किया। इस मिशन का शुभारंभ संचार, मानव संसाधन विकास तथा इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी राज्य मंत्री, संजय शामराव धोत्रे तथा दूरसंचार सचिव अंशु प्रकाश की उपस्थिति में किया गया। भारत सरकार के विभिन्न मंत्रालयों व राज्य सरकारों के अधिकारियों तथा दूरसंचार विभाग के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों एवं दूरसंचार उद्योग के अनेक प्रतिनिधियों ने इस कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया।
राष्ट्रीय ब्रॉडबैंड मिशन का विजन डिजिटल संचार ढांचे का त्वरित विकास, डिजिटल अंतर को समाप्त करना, डिजिटल सशक्तिकरण तथा समावेश पर आधारित है। मिशन का उद्देश्य तथा सभी नागरिकों के लिए किफायती और सार्वभौमिक ब्रॉडबैंड सेवा प्रदान करना है। मिशन का उद्देश्य तीन सिद्धांतों पर आधारित है :- सभी के लिए उपलब्धता, गुणवता युक्त सेवा तथा किफायती सेवा। मिशन के लक्ष्य निम्न हैं :-
सभी गांव में 2022 तक ब्रॉडबैंड सेवा।
· ग्रामीण व सुदूर क्षेत्रों समेत पूरे देश में ब्रॉडबैंड सेवा की उपलब्धता।
ऑप्टिक फाइबर केबल 30 लाख कि.मी. रूट में बिछाया गया। टावर घनत्व 2024 तक प्रति एक हजार की आबादी पर 0.42 से बढ़कर 1.0 हो जाएगा।
· मोबाइल और इंटरनेट सेवा की गुणवता बेहतर होगी।
· राज्यों / केन्द्र शासित प्रदेशों के साथ मिलकर कार्य करने के लिए राइट ऑफ वे (आरओडब्ल्यू) मॉडल विकसित किया जाएगा। ऑप्टिक फाइबर बिछाने समेत डिजिटल अवसंरचना के विस्तार संबंधी नीतियों के लिए यह मॉडल सहायक होगा।
राज्य / केन्द्र शासित प्रदेश में उपलब्ध डिजिटल संचार अवसंरचना और अनुकूल नीति ईको-सिस्टम को मापने के लिए ब्रॉडबैंड रेडीनेस इंडेक्स (बीआरआई) विकसित किया जाएगा।
· पूरे देश के लिए डिजिटल फाइबर मानचित्र तैयार किया जाएगा। इसमें संचार नेटवर्क व अवसंरचना, आप्टिक फाइबर केबल, टावर आदि को शामिल किया जाएगा।
हितधारकों द्वारा 100 बिलियन डॉलर (सात लाख करोड़ रूपये) का निवेश। इसमें यूनिवर्सल सर्विस आब्लिगेशन फंड (यूएसओएफ) का 70,000 करोड़ रूपये का निवेश शामिल।
· डिजिटल अवसंरचना और सेवाओं के निर्माण तथा विस्तार को गति प्रदान करने के लिए नीतिगत और नियामक संबंधी नियमों में बदलाव करना।
मिशन में निवेश के लिए संबंधित मंत्रालयों/विभागों/एजेंसियों तथा वित्त मंत्रालय समेत सभी हितधारकों के साथ कार्य करना।

Punjab minister Sunder Shyam Arora on lashed out at Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) chief Simarjit Bains for “spreading misinformation” against the government over its decision to create land banks in rural areas to boost industrial development.
The Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had on December 2 given in-principle approval to amend the law for transfer of common village land in rural areas to the state’s industry department for setting up industrial projects.
The cabinet also gave its nod to amend the Punjab Village Common Land (Regulation) Rules, 1964 to create land banks.
The LIP has decided to launch a statewide stir against the government’s decision from January 4.
Accusing Bains and his party of “spreading misinformation”, Arora said: “The protest planned by LIP over the issue is a political stunt. Simarjit Bains is indulging in total falsehood and fabrication to mislead the people.”
Bains had earlier announced that the LIP’s ‘Saadi Panchayat, Saadi Zameen’ (our panchayat, our land) agitation will be launched from Bhamadi village near Khanna.
“The land belongs to panchayats and it is the only source of their income. The government doesn’t have any right to deny the village bodies that,” Bains had said.
Arora, however, pointed out that the scheme to create rural land banks was voluntary, and a matter of the panchayat’s choice.

पाकिस्तान के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति परवेज मुशर्रफ को एक विशेष अदालत ने देशद्रोह के मामले में मंगलवार को मौत की सजा सुनाई।
पेशावर उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीश वकार अहमद सेठ की अध्यक्षता में विशेष अदालत की तीन सदस्यीय पीठ ने 76 वर्षीय मुशर्रफ को लंबे समय से चल रहे देशद्रोह के मामले में मौत की सजा सुनाई। यह मामला 2007 में संविधान को निलंबित करने और देश में आपातकाल लगाने का है जो कि एक दंडनीय अपराध है और इस मामले में उनके खिलाफ 2014 में आरोप तय किए गए थे।
पूर्व सैन्य प्रमुख मार्च 2016 में इलाज के लिए दुबई गए थे और सुरक्षा एवं सेहत का हवाला देकर तब से लौटे नहीं हैं।
‘डॉन’ समाचारपत्र की खबर के अनुसार विशेष अदालत ने 19 नवंबर को सुरक्षित रखा गया फैसला सुनाया है।

Abdullah Azam Khan’s father Azam Khan is the Lok Sabha MP from Rampur, the parliamentary constituency under which the Suar segment falls.
