 India’s highest sporting honour Khel Ratna Award, which was named after former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, was on Friday rechristened in the honour of hockey wizard Dhyan Chand following the admirable performance of both men’s and women’s hockey teams in the Tokyo Olympics. 

Making the announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he had been getting many requests from citizens across India to name the Khel Ratna Award after Major Dhyan Chand.

“Respecting their sentiment, the Khel Ratna Award will hereby be called the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award! Major Dhyan Chand was among India’s foremost sportspersons who brought honour and pride for India. It is fitting that our nation’s highest sporting honour will be named after him,” he tweeted.

The exceptional performance of the men’s and women’s Hockey Team has captured the imagination of our entire nation, the prime minister said, adding that there is a renewed interest towards the sport that is emerging across the length and breadth of India.

This is a very positive sign for the coming times, he said.

The prestigious award carries a prize money of Rs 25 lakh.

Senior Congress leader from Chandigarh Pardeep Chhabra, who has been at loggerheads with the party’s incumbent city unit president, on Friday announced his decision to resign from the party’s primary membership,Chhabra’s move came a day after the party’s city unit served him a notice over his alleged anti-party activities.
The Congress had replaced Chhabra, who also remained the city’s Mayor earlier, with Subhash Chawla as party’s city unit chief in February this year.
In the past few weeks, Chhabra had been attacking Chawla alleging that he was being ignored and not being called for party meetings.
However, in one of the latest invites for a party meeting sent to him on Tuesday by the city unit, Chhabra had expressed his inability to attend citing personal reasons.
In an open letter to the city’s Congressmen last week, Chhabra had alleged that those who had been working for the party for more than three decades had been ignored in the recent list of office bearers released by the party’s city unit
He also questioned why women had not been given 30 percent representation in the newly constituted committee.

मोदी सरकार बिना विपक्ष के ही सारा बिजनेस चलाने पर तुली हुई है।

राज्यसभा में हसाडे नेता प्रतिपक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे जी ने वरिष्ठता का परिचय देते हुए उच्च सदन में तृणमूल कांग्रेस के छह सदस्यों के निलंबन पर केंद्र सरकार को चेतावनी दे दी है कि मोदी सरकार विपक्षी सांसदों को  बाहर निकालकर सदन चलाना चाहती है, लेकिन कांग्रेस और उसके सहयोगी झुकने वाले नहीं हैं

शोर शराबे से जी नही भरा तो पुर्जे फाड़ कर स्पीकरों की तरफ उछाल दिए।अब हुक्मरानों को बिजनेस तो चलाना ही है ,अब चर्चा हो या ना हो।विपक्ष के चुनिंदा सांसद सदन में रहें या जाएं कोई फरक नई पैंदा जी।

ये क्या हो रहा है? ओये सबसे वडडे लोकतंत्र के महान संसद की महत्वपूर्ण कार्यवाही को चाटपापड़ीं और ढोकला बता कर मजाक उड़ाया जा रहा है।मानसून सत्र में महत्वपूर्ण समस्यायों पर चर्चा ही नही हो पा रही । अगर अपनी जासूसी से त्रस्त सांसदों की आपसी दूरियां यूं ही बढ़ती रही तो हमारी समस्यायों का कौन समाधान निकालेगा ? किसानों को राहत कैसे मिलेगी?? कोरोना के खिलाफ जंग कैसे अंतिम मुकाम तक पहुंचेगी???
