The Punjab Governance Reforms Department in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division under Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) on Monday organized a one-day state level workshop on DigiLocker for the Heads of State Government Departments and Universities at MGSIPA, Sector-26.
Chairing the workshop, Principal Secretary, Governance Reforms and Higher Education Ms. Seema Jain said that Governance Reforms department started process of integrating DigiLocker with e-Sewa and m-Sewa applications which are being used to deliver key services to citizens through different modes including
Sewa Kendras.
Caste Certificates (SC/ST/BC/OBC),
Residence Certificate and Rural Area Certificate
are available on respective Digilocker accounts of citizens which are issued via Sewa Kendras. Punjab State e-Governance Society and Punjab School Education Board have already registered as issuer departments on Digilocker.
Ms. Seema Jain urged for participation of all G2C, G2B service providing departments to connect with ecosystem of Digilocker by becoming issuer departments and delivers the end documents (certificate/license) via authentic digital medium to citizen/business units. This system will help the citizens to access their issued documents anytime, anywhere.
Digilocker core team member Mr. Amit Jain and Mr Durgaprasad Das said that all the departments should come forward for the paperless governance. Mr. Jain said that DigiLocker is an important building block cutting across all 3 vision areas of Digital India. The thrust of DigiLocker is to promote the vision of paperless governance, thus enabling any citizen to produce requisite documents anytime, anywhere in electronic form.
Addressing the participants, Director Governance Reforms, Mr. Parminder Pal Singh Sandhu stated that the State is progressing towards Digital Punjab through implementation of Enterprise Architecture thus focusing towards making all documents available to general public through DigiLocker. Digital Locker is aimed at minimizing the usage of physical documents and enable sharing of e-documents across government organizations or other agencies

बाड़मेर जिले के जसोल गांव में रविवार को एक हादसे में कम से कम 14 लोगों की मौत हो गयी। पुलिस के अनुसार बड़ी संख्या में लोग घायल हैं जिन्हें विभिन्न अस्पतालों में भर्ती कराया गया है|
प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार जसोल गांव के धाम में कथा के लिए बड़ा पंडाल लगाया गया था। रविवार दोपहर बाद आई तेज आंधी और बारिश से पंडाल का कुछ हिस्सा गिर गया और इससे वहां भगदड़ मच गयी।

[New Delhi]India Rejects US’s Religious Freedom Report Saying it Sees No Locus Standi for a Foreign Government to Pronounce on the State of its Citizens’ Constitutionally Protected Rights.
In its annual 2018 International Religious Freedom Report, the State Department alleged Friday that mob attacks by violent extremist Hindu groups against minority communities, particularly Muslims, continued in India in 2018, amid rumours that victims had traded or killed cows for beef.
Responding to media queries on the report, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said: “India is proud of its secular credentials, its status as the largest democracy and a pluralistic society with a longstanding commitment to tolerance and inclusion.”
The Indian Constitution guarantees fundamental rights to all its citizens, including its minority communities, he said.
“We see no locus standi for a foreign entity/government to pronounce on the state of our citizens’ constitutionally protected rights,” he said.
Releasing the report at the Foggy Bottom headquarters of the State Department, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last week said the report was like a report card which tracks countries to see how well they have respected this fundamental human right

This issue was raised by Congress member Amit Deshmukh in the state Assembly through a Calling Attention notice.
Deshmukh said theBrihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) during an inspection in the city recently found that majority of the samples of lemon and sugarcane juices being sold in the open were adulterated.
It was also observed that some farmers used the chemical sewage released from factories in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area in Dombivali township of neighbouring Thane district to grow vegetables along the railway lines, he said.
NCP leader Ajit Pawar said the state government had earlier recommended to the Centre that life imprisonment be awarded to those accused of adulterating milk.
Pawar also demanded life sentence for those selling adulterated foods and juices in the open and assured cooperation of opposition parties in bringing such a provision.
From April to May this year, action was taken against 8,012 hawkers and 21,463 kg of food items, 36,054 litre of lemon juice and 1,16,823 kg of ice were seized following inspections in Mumbai, he informed the House.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh hit out at the Delhi Police on Monday for the alleged assault on a man at Mukherjee Nagar in the national capital and sought Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s intervention in the matter.
CM said in a Tweet “Shameful incident of @DelhiPolice ruthlessly beating up Sarabjeet Singh & Balwant Singh over a petty issue. Request HM @Amit Shah to ensure justice,”
The Delhi police has said an enquiry will be conducted into the incident by Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest) Vijayanta Arya and the Additional DCP and ACP of the district.
Three policemen have been suspended for their unprofessional conduct in handling the matter and further legal action will be taken on the basis of the enquiry, the police have said.
A police officer was injured on Sunday after he was allegedly attacked by a tempo driver, who chased him with a sword following an accident involving their vehicles. Video clips of the incident have gone viral on the social media.
In one of the clips, a man was seen chasing some policemen with a sword in his hand, while in another, the policemen were seen thrashing him with batons.

Trump tweeted that the accusations were “NOT TRUE,” calling the media “corrupt” and repeating accusations that journalists are “the enemy of the people.”
“This is a virtual act of Treason by a once great paper so desperate for a story, any story, even if bad for our Country.”
