रोमांस फिल्मो के बेताज बादशाह कहे जाने वाले प्रड्यूसर +डायरेक्टर यश राज चोपड़ा का आज रविवार शाम को मुंबई के लीलावती हॉस्पिटल में निधन हो गया। वह 80 साल के थे। उन्हें डेंगू से पीड़ित होने के चलते १३ अक्टूबर को लीला वती हॉस्पिटल में भर्ती कराया गया था। २२ फिल्मो का निर्देशन करके ‘दादा साहब फालके’ पुरस्कार + आठ फिल्मफेयर और एक नेशनल अवार्ड जीतने वाले पद्मश्री यश चोपड़ा के चले जाने से पूरा बॉलीवुड दुखी और हतप्रभ है। इनके परिवार में पत्नी पामेला चोपड़ा, पुत्र आदित्य और उदय हैं। जमोस न्यूज डाट काम परिवार की तरफ से उन्हें भाव भीनी श्रधान्जली|अभी २७ सितम्बर को उन्होंने अपना ८० वां जन्म दिन मनाया था और जब तक है जान फिल्म के बाद निर्देशन के छेत्र से संन्यास लेने की घोषणा भी की थी |ये भी इत्तेफाक ही है कि फिल्म में केवल एक गाने की ही दीवार रह गई थी उसे पार करने के लिए विजय की चांदनी मशाल लेकर उन्हें हर लम्हे एक नए दौर में लेकर जा रहे थी लेकिन ये वक्त बड़ा शक्ति शाली है यह वक्त कभी कभी सभी सिल सिले धूल में ही मिला देता है|

यश राज चोपड़ा ने सहायक निर्देशक के तौर बॉलीवुड में कैरियर की शुरुआत की थी अपने बड़े भाई बी आर चोपड़ा द्वारा प्रोडियूस फिल्म धूल का फूल (१९५९] से निर्देशन के छेत्र में कदम रखा | इसके बाद उन्होंने हिट फिल्मों की लाइन लगा दी..| यश चोपड़ा ने कुछ दिन पहले ही निर्माणाधीन शाहरुख खान स्टारर ‘जब तक है जान’ के बाद रिटायर होने का ऐलान किया था। 1973 में यश राज फिल्म्स नाम से अपनी प्रॉडक्शन कंपनी खोलने के बाद उन्होंने इंडस्ट्री को न सिर्फ कई हिट फिल्में दीं, बल्कि कई स्टार भी दिए। 1975 में आई उनकी फिल्म दीवार ही थी, जिसने अमिताभ बच्चन को ऐंग्री यंग मैन के तौर पर स्थापित किया था। उन्होंने एक के बाद एक कई हिट फिल्में दीं। 1993 में आई उनकी फिल्म डर से ही शाहरुख खान ने कामयाबी की नई ऊंचाइयों का छुआ।।यश चोपड़ा ने कुछ दिन पहले अपना 80वां जन्म दिन मनाते हुए अपनी रिटायरमेंट अनाउंस कर सभी को हैरान कर दिया था। शाहरुख़ खान को एन दी टी वी पर दिए एक लम्बे इंटरव्यू में उन्होंने कहा था कि ‘जब तक है जान’ उनकी बतौर डायरेक्टर आखिरी फिल्म होगी। लेकिन इस फिल्म के रिलीज होने के पहले ही वह इस दुनिया को छोड़कर चले गए। यह फिल्म 13 नवंबर को रिलीज होने जा रही है।
यश चोपड़ा का जन्म 27 सितंबर 1932 में पार्टीशन से पहले लाहौर में हुआ था.| आठ भाई बहनों में सबसे छौटे थे| परिवार चाहता था कि वे[यश] इंजीनियर बने और लंदन जाने के लिए उनका पासपोर्ट भी तैयार हो चुका था, लेकिन तकदीर को कुछ और ही मंजूर था और वे फिल्म इंडस्ट्री से जुड़ गए।यह स्वयम उन्होंने शाहरुख़ खान को दिए इंटरव्यू में स्वीकार की है|
निर्देशक के रूप में यश चोपड़ा की पहली फिल्म थी ‘धूल का फूल'[१९५९ ] इसके बाद उन्होंने ‘वक्त'[१९६५] बनाई जो सुपर हिट गई। यह बॉलीवुड की पहली मल्टी स्टार फिल्म थी।
