उत्तर प्रदेश और दक्षिण भारत के पांच एअरपोर्ट को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दर्जा :यात्रा भी महंगी हो सकती है

प्रधानमंत्री डाक्टर मनमोहन सिंह की अध्यक्षता में कैबिनेट की मीटिंग में उत्तर प्रदेश के लखनऊ व वाराणसी तथा दक्षिण भारत के तिरुचिरापल्ली, मंगलूर और कोयम्बतूर समेत देश के पांच हवाई अड्डों को पूर्ण अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे का दर्जा 4 अक्टूबर 2012 को दे दिया गया है|.
यह दर्जा पाने के बाद इन पांचों हवाई अड्डों पर सुविधाओं का विस्तार होगा तथा अंतरराष्ट्रीय उड़ानों का दायरा बढ़ जाएगा. इससे इन क्षेत्रों के आर्थिक विकास को गति मिलेगी.लेकिन इसके साथ ही यहाँ करों की वसूली भी बाद जायेगी अर्थार्त यहाँ भी यात्रा महंगी हो सकती है|अगर दिल्ली से तुलना की जाये तो दिल्ली में केवल एक शुल्क ही १३००/= है|:

आधुनिकीकरण के बाद यहां से चीन, कोरिया, सिंगापुर, हांगकांग, मलेशिया, आस्ट्रेलिया, यूरोप, अमेरिका आदि के शहरों को सीधी उड़ानें संभव होंगी.केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने लखनऊ, वाराणसी, मंगलोर, तिरुचिरापल्ली तथा कोयंबटूर हवाईअड्डों को अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाईअड्डा का दर्जा दिये जाने के प्रस्ताव को गुरुवार को मंजूरी दे दी।
आर्थिक मामलों की मंत्रिमंडलीय समिति (सीसीईए) की बैठक के बाद वित्त मंत्री पी. चिदंबरम ने संवाददाताओं से कहा, ‘ये सभी हवाईअड्डे मध्यम से लंबी दूरी वाले विमानों के परिचालन में सक्षम हैं और रात्रि परिचालन की सुविधाओं से भी युक्त हैं।’ उन्होंने कहा कि हवाई अड्डों को अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकों के अनुरूप उन्नत बनाया गया है और इस घोषणा से घरेलू या अंतरराष्ट्रीय पर्यटन को बढ़ावा मिलने की उम्मीद है। साथ ही यह संबंधित क्षेत्र के आर्थिक विकास में भी मददगार होगा। । वित्तमंत्री ने कहा कि इन सभी एयरपोर्ट पर इमिग्रेशन समेत अन्य सुविधाओं का भी विस्तार किया जाएगा। लखनऊ एयरपोर्ट पर फिलहाल एयरबस 300 विमान के सभी मौसमों में उड़ान भरने की सुविधा है। जबकि एयरपोर्ट पर 14 विमानों को पार्क करने की सुविधा है। इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट बनने के बाद विमान पार्किंग की संख्या भी बढ़ेगी। जबकि वाराणसी एयरपोर्ट पर एयरबस 320 विमानों के सभी मौसम में उड़ानें भरने की क्षमता है और पांच विमानों की पार्किंग की सुविधा है। वाराणसी से देश की सरकारी और निजी एयरलाइनों के साथ दो विदेशी थाई एयरवेज और कास्मिक एयरवेज अपनी उड़ानें संचालित करते हैं।
नागर विमानन मंत्रालय ने इन हवाई अड्डों को अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे का दर्जा दिए जाने का प्रस्ताव किया था। मेरठ में हवाई पट्टी के विस्तारीकरण का प्रस्ताव सारे आश्वासनों के बावजूद लंबित है|
