Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced that the state will be made kerosene free next year.
“For this, gas (LPG) cylinders will be given to every household and families using kerosene for cooking will be given gas chullahs so that they do not have to cook amid smoke from wood or kerosene,” he said while addressing a ‘Mewat Vikas Maharally’ at Chandraka village in Mewat.
Khattar also accused the previous Congress regime of not being serious about the development of Mewat.
He said “During Congress rule, not even a single meeting of Mewat Development Authority (MDA) was held which shows their callous attitude towards the development of the area. On the other hand, after BJP took over, two meetings of MDA have already been held,”
In the rally, the Chief Minister made a number of announcements for development of the district including renovation of Kotla lake,
opening of a college,
setting up of a driving school with the help of Maruti Suzuki India ltd,
construction of park in village Sakras,
upgradation of 50 schools besides opening 19 new primary schools.
On the demand of linking Mewat with Railway line, the Chief Minister assured that efforts were being made in this direction. He also said a survey was being carried out for four laning of National Highway from Nuh to Rajasthan border.
Referring to the demand of filling up the vacant posts of teachers in Mewat, Khattar said recruitment of 10,000 teachers was underway.
He said a transfer policy has been prepared by the education department which will be soon implemented in the state.
This policy has already been implemented in Mewat district. At the same time, in order to overcome the shortage, the teachers who opt to serve in Mewat and Morni would be paid 10 per cent extra salary, he added.
