जनरल ओ डायर ने अमृत सर में १३-०४-१९१९ की बैसाखी पर निर्दोष निहत्ते देश भक्तों पर बर्बरतापूर्ण गोलियां चलवाई थी |डायर को लन्दन में जाकर १३-०३-१९४० को गोलियों से भून कर स्वयम को गिरफ्तार करवा दिया और ३१-०७-१९४० को सर्वोच्च बलिदान दिया मैं अपने जीवन की परवाह नहीं करता। इनके अंतिम अमर शब्द थे
अगर मरना ही है तो मैं जवान मौत मरना चाहूंगा और अब यही कर रहा हूं। मैं अपने देश के लिए मर रहा हूं।
