Ministry Acrobatically Arranging Transit Accommodation For New Parliamentarians

Directorate of Estates is working in full swing to provide housing facility to New Parliamentarians .Before the first session of the new Lok Sabha starts early next month,accommodation has already been allotted to 223 lawmakers .

The Directorate of Estates of the Union Ministry of Urban Development has made arrangements for transit accommodation for the newly elected Members of Parliament(MPs) of the 16th Lok Sabha in various State /UT Bhavans/Guest Houses and ITDC hotels in Delhi till the MPs are allotted regular accommodations from the Lok Sabha.
Arrangements have been made for approximately 240 rooms in the State/UT Bhavans/ Guest Houses and 180 rooms in the ITDC Hotels in Delhi and the details in this regard have been communicated to the Lok Sabha Secretariat for making the actual allotment of rooms to the newly elected MPs.
It May Be Added That The former MPs / Union Ministers of 15th Lok Sabha, who could not get re-elected to the 16th Lok Sabha, are entitled for retention of their existing government accommodation for a period of one month only from the date of dissolution of the 15th Lok Sabha/ demission of office by the Union Ministers.
