(Chd,Pb)Capt Would Offer Ardas From Residence;Guru Teg Bahadur Prakash PurbPunjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would virtually join the people in offering ‘Ardas’ from his residence on the auspicious occasion of 400th Prakash Purb celebrations of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib on May 1 (Saturday).Gurpurab celebrations would begin from the residence of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Charanjit Singh Channi at Morinda from 11 am with Gurmat Sangeet by Bhai Gurmeet Singh Shant followed by Path Sri Anand Sahib, Ardas and Hukamnama at the residence of the Chief Minister at 11:45 am. The Chief Minister had also appealed to the people to watch the events on TV and offer ‘Ardas’ from their homes and avoid congregating at the religious places in view of the crisis situation.

A two days International webinar dedicated to 400th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji concluded today with the mesaage to researchers and students to find out the routes of travels of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. The webinar organised under the patronage of Ms. Ravneet Kaur, IAS, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala, by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur National Integration Chair was based on the theme: Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur- Socio-Spiritual Concerns. On the second day of the webinar, the keynote address was delivered by Dr Dalvir Singh Pannu, California, (U.S.A.). Prof. Gurdip Singh Batra, Dean, Research, Punjabi University, Patiala welcomed the speaker and audience attending the webinar. Dr. Daljit Singh, Head, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur National Integration Chair provided valuable information about the life and martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Dr. Pannu gave impressive information to the researchers after analyzing different sources about Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji which are lying in libraries and archives of India and Pakistan. He advised the researchers to depend on original sources instead of translated ones to get more authentic information as many times, the translated versions omit other relevant facts. He laid stress that traditions are more important in comparison to the sources.
Prof. Amarjit Singh, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar told the researchers to remain cautious while analyzing Persian sources which have dominance of a particular religion. At the end of the webinar, Dr. Daljit Singh suggested the researchers and students to find out the routes of travels of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Punjab Chief Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday virtually unveiled the logo of the state-level 400th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, to be held now in a single phase in April-May 2021, on account of the Covid pandemic, instead of the two-phased celebration proposed earlier.
Chairing a meeting of the Executive Committee for the celebrations, the Chief Minister suggested dedicating the year-long celebrations to the `Hind Di Chaddar’ as `Sarv Dharam’ year to mark the secular character of the nation. It was tentatively decided at the virtual meeting that the main programme should commence on April 23, 2021, and culminate on May 1 in a grand event. A Nagar Kirtan will be held on April 23, starting from Guru Teg Bahadur ji’s birth place at Guru Ka Mahal in Amritsar and arriving at Baba Bakala to mark the launch of the event.
