उन्होंने कहा “एक साउंड टेक्नीशियन के तौर पर मैंने संगीत में आए तकनीकी बदलाव को देखा और अपने अनुभवों के आधार पर मैं इस नतीजों पर पहुंचता हूं कि हम बिल्कुल उसी तरह का हू-ब-हू संगीत रिकॉर्ड नहीं कर सकते जो कि हमारे सामने लाइव चलता है। अपनी फिल्म के जरिए मैंने इस तथ्य पर प्रकाश डालने की कोशिश की है।” समारोह में अपनी फिल्म ‘ऑन ऐंड ऑफ दि रिकॉर्ड्स’ की स्क्रीनिंग के बाद मीडिया से बातचीत करते हुए प्रतीक ने कहा, आज तकनीक गानों पर हावी हो रही है। इस विषय पर ध्यान देने की जरूरत है। तकनीक और गानों में सुंतलन स्थापित करना हमारे लिए एक चुनौती है।
संगीत के तकनीकी इतिहास की तरफ काफी कम ध्यान दिया गया है। फिल्म निर्माण के मामले में बमुश्किल ही किसी ने इस दिशा में कदम उठाने का साहस दिखाया होगा। लेकिन प्रतीक बिस्वास इस संबंध में अपवाद हैं। उन्होंने इस विषय पर गैर-फीचर फिल्म बनाई है। स्वयं की मेहनत से साउंड टेक्नीशियन बने प्रतीक ने अपने बलबूते भारतीय संगीत में पिछले सौ वर्षों के दौरान आए तकनीकी बदलावों पर गहन शोध किया है।

45th International Film Festival of India Takes Off Tomorrow at Goa
The 45th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) takes off tomorrow at Goa amidst great fanfare and with a gala show of music and dance being held from 20th to 30th November, 2014.Sh Rajnikant would be Indian Film Personality of the Year.whereas Chinese Film maker Wong KarWai would receive the Lifetime Achievement Award
China will be the country in focus at this Film Festival .
A variety of films will be showcased. The films in this section are ‘
American Dreams in China’, ‘
Beijing Blues’, ‘
Caught In The Web’,
‘Christmas Rose’,
‘Feng Shui’,
‘Finding Mr. Right’,
‘‘The Great Hypnotist’,
‘Out Of Inferno’ and
‘Silent Witness’.
Other categories include ‘Genuine Love’ (INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION) and ‘The Grandmaster ‘(CLOSING FILM). The 2014 edition of the Festival is 11th in a row at Goa beginning with 35th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in November 2004 in the State.
This festival will provide a common platform for the cinematography of the world to project the excellence of the film art; contributing to the understanding and appreciation of film cultures of different nations in the context of their social and cultural ethos; and promoting friendship and co- operation among people of the world.
Speaking to the media at the press conference Director Festival Shri Shankar Mohan informed that Amitabh Bachchan along with his wife Jaya Bachchan will be the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony while,JeonSoo-il (South Korea)Mohsen Makhmalbaf(Iran)and Polish film maker KrzysztofZanussi would be the Guests of Honour. Actor AnupamKher and RaveenaTandon will compere the programme.
The other celebrities to be present include ShekharKapur,SatishKaushik, and RoopaGanguli.
ShriRajnikant would be bestowed with Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year. The award was instituted last year to commemorate 100 years of Indian Cinema.
China is the focus country for the festival. IFFI 2014 would screen 178 films from 79 countries across different categories which include World Cinema (61 films), Master-strokes (11 films), Festival Kaleidoscope (20 films), Soul of Asia (7 films), Documentaries (6 films), Animated Films (6 films). Besides, Indian Panorama section would include 26 Feature and 15 Non-Feature Films. North-East being the focus region of the festival, IFFI 2014 would be showcasing 7 films from North Eastern part of India. Regional cinema would also be an integral part of the festival.Retrospective sections on Gulzar and Jahnu Baruah, Special Homage films on Richard Attenborough, Robin Williams, ZohraSehgal, SuchitraSen, and special tribute to Farooq Sheikh would be other attractions this year. A special section of films that focus on dance, personality based retrospectives, and Masterclasses/workshopswould also form a part of IFFI 2014.
The new attraction is open air Screening of Indian filmsat Campal Football Ground for the general public free of cost on first come first basis. The screening will open with film “Gandhi” on 21st November,2014 at 7.30 P.M and will show an Indian film every day at the same time and venue till 27th November,2014.
Besides the world premieres, IFFI 2014 offers a repertoire of activities, such as The Film Bazar, 3D Films, Dinners, Master classes, Stalls and Open-Air Screenings for the delegates.45th IFFI Focuses on Tales of Women from North East
Festival of India is focusing on North east cinema. IFFI initiated a special section on the cinemas of the North east of India in its last edition. A special section ‘A view from the North –East’ this year is highlighting the films which put the spotlight on women centric stories. As in real life in north–east, women power is reflected in the screen too. These few cinematic samples from this multi- ethnic region provide a glimpse to this fact.
Padum Barua’s Ganga Chilanir Pakhi(1976), based on Sahitya Akademi award winning author Laxminandan Borah’s eponymous novel and considered as classic of Assamese cinema can be seen during the festival. Other films in this section include Aribam Syam Sharma’s Sanabi, Dr Santawana Bordoloi’s Adajya(winner of special jury award at IFFI 1997), Oinam Gautam Singh’s Phijigee Mani, Pulinthanath’s Mathia, Bhabendranath Saikia’s Abarton and Manju Borah’s Akashitorar Kathare.
The new attraction at 45th IFFI is open air screening of Indian films every day for the general publicat 7.30 P.M, Campal Football Ground.The entry for general public will be free of cost on first come first basis.Opening with film “Gandhi” on 21st November, 2014,
the screeningwill continue till 27th November,2014at the same time and venue as per enlisted details.
