Department of Telecommunication, Ministry of Communications today announced that Smart India Hackathon 2018 – Software edition Grand Finale is scheduled to be held on Mar 30 & 31, 2018 simultaneously at 28 different nodal centers across India. Smart India Hackathon harnesses creativity & expertise of students, builds funnel for ‘Startup India, Standup India’ campaign, crowdsources solutions for improving governance and quality of life, and provides opportunity to citizens to provide innovative solutions to India’s daunting problems.
Smt. Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, DoT had said that “technology has the potential to profoundly transform the socio-economic landscape of the country.
Smart India Hackathon 2018.is organised With 27 union ministries and departments and 17 state governments .Software edition is a 36-hr software product development competition and scheduled to be held on Mar 30 & 31, 2018.

Students express their gratitude to Home Minister for his deeper heartfelt concern to their problems
On hearing the problems of non-disbursement of scholarships to students from Jammu and Kashmir in some institutions at Jaipur through media on September 03, 2016, the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at his own initiative had spoken to the Education Minister of Rajasthan and obtained the phone numbers of some of the students.
On talking to them, he learnt that the students had some difficulties in getting their scholarship under the Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme.
The Union Home Minister had asked the Education Minister of Rajasthan to sort out the operational difficulty by Monday (5th September, 2016), and had invited the students to meet him in Delhi,
A delegation of over 30 students representing all the three regions Jammu+Kashmir+Ladakh met and had discussions with the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar, here on 8th September
These students studying in Rajasthan, Haryana and other states presented their issues.
The students after meeting the Union Home Minister and HRD Minister and Chairman, AICTE were fully satisfied with approach adopted by the Central Government. They profusely expressed their sincere gratitude to the initiative taken by the Home Minister, concern of all to their problem and extra ordinary approach for solving them.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in 2015-16 has proceeded against 132 private engineering institutions which failed to act on norms laid down by it,
This information was shared in the Lok Sabha by HRD minister Smt Smriti Irani in a written reply to a member’s question.
132 private engineering institutions, including 5 in the state of Rajasthan, which failed to fulfil the norms laid down by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have been proceeded against by AICTE in 2015-16 after issuing a show cause notice and considering their explanation,
This penal action ranged from reduction in seats in some and even closure of 87 colleges,
