Congress rebel Kalikho Pul,who briefly served as Arunachal Pradesh chief minister, allegedly committed suicide
As per Top Police Official ,Pul, 47, allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his bedroom, He was found dead at the chief minister’s official residence which he was yet to vacate.
One of his three wives found him hanging this morning.He is survived by three wives and four children.
As Pul’s death news spread all the MLAs from ruling and opposition parties, ministers, friends and members of public rushed to the bungalow.
The circumstances behind the death were still not clear.
Pul, who took over the reigns of the state on February 19 this year, served as Chief Minister for a brief time with the Supreme Court in July reinstating Nabam Tuki, who then made way for Pema Khandu as the 10th Chief Minister

“That will be decided on the floor of the Assembly.
Government runs only with the numbers. There is no threat to our government,” he told reporters
In a landmark verdict, the Supreme Court ordered restoration of the Congress government in Arunachal Pradesh by quashing all decisions of the Governor that had precipitated its fall in January, holding them “violative” of the Constitution

With the Supreme Court ordering restoration of his government in Arunachal Pradesh, Congress leader Nabam Tuki today termed the verdict as “historic” and said it has protected democracy.
He said the Constitution of the country and democracy have been protected.
The Supreme Court today ordered restoration of Congress government in Arunachal Pradesh by quashing as “unconstitutional” Governor’s decision to advance the Legislative Assembly session by a month in December last.
Later in a post on Twitter, Tuki said, “Finally we have got justice from SC. Court has today saved this country and its Constitution.”

14 Rebel Congress MLAs Disqualified From AP Assembly
[Itanagar,AP]14 Rebel Congress MLAs Disqualified From Arunachal Pradesh Assembly
Fourteen rebel Congress MLAs were disqualified from the Assembly today, a day ahead of its winter session which would take up the impeachment motion notice served by 11 BJP and two Independent members against Speaker Nabam Rebia.
A notice issued by Assembly Secretary M Lasa stated that they were disqualified on the ground of defection and the constituencies from which they had won fall vacant.
The 14 included Deputy Speaker T N Thandak who was supposed to conduct the business of the House on the impeachment motion.
Led by former minister Kalikho Pul, 21 Congress MLAs out of the total 47 in the 60-member House have revolted against the leadership of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki since last three months.
The 14 MLAs disqualified today are former ministers Pema Khandu, Kumar Waii, Jarkar Gamlin, Kamlung Mossang, Wanglin Lowangdong, Thangwang Wangham, Deputy Speaker T N Thongdok, Kameng Dolo, Markio Tado, P D Sona, Mutchu Mithi, Phosum Khimhun, Lombo Tayeng and Kalikho Pul.
Governor J P Rajkhowa has re-scheduled the Assembly session from January 14 to December 16 to take up the impeachment motion and the business of the House would be conducted by deputy speaker T N Thongdok.
The move triggered criticism of the governor and demand for his call back grew louder in the state.

As the Modi government tries to muster support for its contentious land bill in the Rajya Sabha, some states ruled by opposition parties have kept up suspense over their next move but Congress-ruled Arunachal Pradesh has sprung a surprise, finding fault with the 2013 law passed by the UPA dispensation.
.The Joint Committee of Parliament headed by BJP MP S S Ahluwalia looking into the vexed issue had, after its first meeting on May 29, asked the states to submit their views on the proposed legislation in writing.
The Congress-ruled states have written identical letters to the panel totally opposing the changes being brought in the 2013 land Act, but the party’s government in Arunachal Pradesh said the 2013 law brought by the UPA was “too lengthy” and “complicated” as compared to the 1894 Act.
However, responses sent by over a dozen state governments make it clear that they are not backing the changes in the 2013 law.
While the government has no hope of support from Congress, Left and Trinamool Congress, it has still not given up on parties like SP, BJD, AIADMK, NCP and a few others by bringing in some changes in the draft bill..
