Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked the Centre on Saturday over the ASHA health workers’ strike to press for better service conditions and benefits, saying the government was “mute” already, but now maybe “blind and deaf” also.
“ASHA workers take health protection to homes across the country. They are truly health warriors, but today they are forced to go on strike for their own rights,” Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi.
ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist), anganwadi, and National Health Mission are on two-day nationwide strike from Friday to press for better service conditions and benefits.

Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan’s estranged daughter Asha Paswan on Saturday criticised him for making a veiled attack on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rabri Devi over the party’s opposition to the Centre’s quota bill and demanded an apology from him.
She also threatened to stage a dharna at the office of his Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).
Paswan, at a press conference attacked RJD for opposing bill to provide 10 per cent reservation for the economically backward in general category.
“They (RJD) believe in merely raising slogans and making ‘angootha chhap’ (illiterate person) the chief minister,” he had said, without naming anybody.
Paswan’s daughter Asha said.”Papa has insulted Rabri Devi. My mother too was uneducated — a reason why he abandoned her. He must apologise or else I will stage a dharna in front of the LJP office,”
She is Paswan’s daughter from his first marriage. Her husband, Arun Sadhu, had joined the RJD last year.
Paswan is separated from his first wife Raj Kumari Devi who lives alone at Samastipur district. He has anointed his son from his second marriage, Chirag Paswan, as his political successor and lives with his second wife Reena Paswan.

Prime Minister, of India Narendra Modi, today announced a landmark increase in remuneration for ASHA and Anganwadi workers ,which will be effective from next month
Prime Minister announced the doubling of routine incentives given by the Union Government to ASHA workers. In addition, all ASHA workers and their helpers would be provided free insurance cover under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Prime Minister Suraksha Bima Yojana.
Those receiving Rs. 3000 so far, would now receive Rs. 4000. Similarly those receiving Rs. 2200, would now get Rs. 3500. The honorarium for Anganwadi helpers has also been increased from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2250.
Prime Minister also announced that Anganwadi workers and helpers using techniques such as Common Application Software (ICDS-CAS), would get additional incentives. The incentives ranging from Rs. 250 to Rs. 500, would be based on performance.
The Prime Minister interacted with teams of three As – the ASHA worker, Anganwadi worker and ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) from across the country. He appreciated their efforts to work together, to use innovative means and technology, to improve the delivery of health and nutrition services and achieve the goal of the POSHAN Abhiyan – reduction of malnutrition in the country

पी एम ने कहा के अब आशा वर्कर को १५ महीने में ११ बार बच्चे के घर जाना होगा| पहले ४२ दिन में ६ बार जाना होता था|
