Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, leading India’s delegation at the 51st International Air Show in Paris met the Minister for Transport, Marine Affairs and Fisheries of France, Mr. Alain Vidalies. They discussed various issues related to aviation sector. The discussion focussed on manufacturing, infrastructure development and investment into India’s aviation sector. The delegation also met the senior management personnel of important companies like Bombardier, Boeing and SAFRAN. The Minister informed them about various opportunities in Indian aviation market and ‘Make in India’. He invited them to manufacture their products in India as they already have a large presence in the country. He also invited them for ‘India Aviation 2016’.
Earlier, the delegation attended the inaugural function of the Air Show The inauguration was attended by delegations from more than 100 countries. Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju interacted with the Indian Exhibitors participating in the Air Show. They informed the Minister about their products and services being offered to the global industry. The delegation also met the CEO and senior management of Textron, Thales and Dassault.

The airport has been witnessing a spate of mishaps such as false ceiling falling and glass panels cracking at the domestic and international terminals, This terminal is built at a cost of over Rs 2,000 crore and inaugurated by Vice President Hamid Ansari in January 2013.
At least 39 such incidents have occurred so far, however, there were no casualties.
In October last year, Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju Marked his attendance at airport following complaints regarding deficiencies in development of infrastructure as well as deficiency in maintenance standards.
It may be added that there are several tests are booked in the records, inspite of which breakage of glass continues
