[Chd,Pb]Capt Launches His Party Prez’s Shakti :Project To Galvanise Congressmen
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today launched Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s flagship ‘Shakti’ project to galvanise party workers in the state ahead of the Lok Sabha election due by May.
The project also aims to connect Congress workers digitally with Gandhi.
It said the project’s success was reflected in the party’s win in the assembly polls in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister asked party workers to make optimum use of this messaging system to target voters at the grassroots level, according to a Congress party release.

The statement of Vijay Sampla rejecting the possibility of Passport waiver and making visa mandatory for the poor and illiterate pilgrims crossing the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor had once again shown that neither the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) nor its ally SAD were interested in facilitating the devotees by making travel hassle-free, said the Chief Minister.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has ordered the constitution of a Special Task Force to free the Budha Nallah of polluting effluents in mission mode.
The task force, with Baba Udai Singh of Naamdhari Sect as its patron, will submit its report to the Chief Minister within two months,
CM has also asked the Local Government department to submit a proposal to enhance the existing capacity of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) from the current 516 MLDs to 675 MLDs, besides augmenting the treatment facilities for industrial effluents.
Captain Amarinder Singh has directed both the Local Bodies + Industries departments+ Principal Secretary Water Resources to draw up a detailed plan for a lasting remedy for channeling and beautification of the 14 KMs of length of the Nallah, which flows through the city.
At present close to 700 MLDs water was flowing in the Nallah, of which 80% was coming from municipal sewerage with industries contributing around 15%.
