The order follows a complaint filed by Delhi Vyapar Mahasangh, whose members comprise many traders.
“The Commission observes that the exclusive arrangements between smartphone/mobile phone brands and e-commerce platform/select sellers selling exclusively on either of the platforms, as demonstrated in the information, coupled with the allegation of linkages between these preferred sellers and OPs (opposite parties) alleged by the Informant merits an investigation,” the Competition Commission of India (CCI)
It needs to be investigated whether the alleged exclusive arrangements, deep discounting and preferential listing by the OPs are being used as an exclusionary tactic to foreclose competition and are resulting in an appreciable adverse effect on competition

Airlines body FIA demanded roll back in jet fuel prices
FIA today demanded a roll back of the 12 per cent hike in jet fuel prices by oil companies and sought appointment of an independent price regulator to deal with the issue of “irrational” pricing.
In a letter to Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju today, Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA) threatened to move fair trade watchdog CCI if the “non-transparent” price increase continues.
FIA is a body of four established domestic private Profit Making airlines –Jet Airways+ IndiGo+SpiceJet + GoAir.
Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), or jet fuel, price was yesterday hiked by 12 per cent by the oil marketing companies on global cues.making air travel more costly
Jet fuel constitutes over 40 per cent of an airlines operating cost and any upward increase in the prices pushes up the cost of operations of the carrier.
The FIA also keeps open its option to pay for fuel in line with the earlier charges
According to FIA, the average price per barrel (MOPAG) from January 2016 to February 2016 has declined by 22 per cent from a rate of USD 46.49 per barrel to 36.1 per barrel while during this period the exchange rate variation has been 1 per cent from Rs 67.60 to Rs 68.20.
Body says
During this period there has been no variation in sales tax.

प्रतिस्पर्धा अपीलीय न्यायाधिकरण ने उचित व्यापार व्यवहार नियामक भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग [CCI]द्वारा हवाई माल ढुलाई पर ईंधन अधिभार तय करने में कथित साठ-गांठ के संबंध में प्रमुख विमानन कंपनी इंडिगो और स्पाइसजेट पर लगाए गए 106 करोड़ रपए के जुर्माने पर रोक लगा दी है।
दोनों विमानन कंपनियों ने नवंबर 2015 में सीसीआई द्वारा उनके खिलाफ जारी आदेश के खिलाफ न्यायाधिकरण में अपील की थी।

सीसीआई ने इसे प्रतिस्पर्धा नियमों का उल्लंघन बताया
सीसीआई के अनुसार, विमान किरायों में सीमा निश्चित करना प्रतिस्पर्धा नियमों का उल्लंघन और बाजार की ताकतों की गतिविधियों पर दबाब होगा
भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग[सीसीआई] के प्रमुख अशोक चावला ने उंचे हवाई किरायों पर अंकुश की मांग के बीच यह बात कही है।
चावला ने न्यूज एजेंसी से बातचीत में कहा कि इस तरह का कदम प्रतिस्पर्धा और नियमन मुक्त के सिद्धान्त की दृष्टि से अनैतिक होगा। चावला ने जोर देकर कहा कि बाजार ताकतों को परिचालन की अनुमति दी जानी चाहिए।
सीसीआई के चेयरमैन ने कहा कि विमान किरायों की सीमा तय करने की प्रतिस्पर्धा पक्ष में कोई जगह नहीं है और कीमतें बाजार ताकतों द्वारा तय की जानी चाहिए,
गुगल पर एक करोड रूपये का जुर्माना
प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग द्वारा गुगल पर एक करोड रूपये का जुर्माना
भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग (सीसीआई) ने गुगल पर अपने महानिदेशक द्वारा मांगी गयी जानकारी और दस्तावेज उपलब्ध नहीं कराने पर एक करोड रूपये का जुर्माना किया है। आयोग ने यह जानकारी और दस्तावेज मैसर्स मैट्रीमोनी कॉम प्राइवेट लिमिटेड और कंज्यूमर यूनिटी एंड ट्रस्ट सोसायटी (कट्स) की गुगल द्वारा ऑन लाइन सर्च और सर्च एडवरटाइजिंग के बाजार में अपने तंत्र का दुरूपयोग करने की शिकायत की जांच पडताल के सिलसिले में गुगल से मांगी थी।
प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग ने गुगल पर जांच में सहयोग नहीं करने का आरोप लगाते हुए उक्त जुर्माना किया है।

Dr. L.H.Hiranandani Hospital, Mumbai Is Found Guilty Of Anti-Competitive Conduct in the stem cell banking market. Competition Commission of India(CCI)Has Imposed Penalty Of Rs 3,81 karor -On The Hospital This Is 4% of the average turnover of OP hospital.
C C I has found Dr. L.H. Hiranandani Hospital, in contravention of Section 3 of the Competition Act, 2002.This Action Has Been Taken On The Complaint Of Mr Ramakant Kini
The informant Mr. Kini had approached C C I alleging anti-competitive conduct by Dr. L.H. Hiranandani Hospital By Patronizing M/s Cryobank And Debarring Other Competitors.
Consequent upon detailed investigation by Director General, the Commission concluded that the exclusive agreement between Dr. L.H.Hiranandani Hospital and M/s Cryobank was anti-competitive being in contravention of the provisions of section 3(1) of the Act as it had caused an appreciable adverse effect on competition in the stem cell banking market.
Accordingly, C C I, under Section 27 of the Act, has passed the following order:-
“(A) The agreement of OP hospital with Cryobank for the years 2011-12 and 2012-13 are declared null and void.
(B) The OP hospital shall not enter into a similar agreement with any stem cell bank in future.”
(C)also imposed a penalty of Rs. 3,81,58,303/- calculated at the rate of 4% of the average turnover of OP hospital. The penalty is to be deposited within 60 days of receipt of the order.

[8] His humane nature made him stand up for the rights of people and fight against capital punishment and euthanasia.
[9]For his contribution to the nation, the Government of India awarded him the Padmabhushan (An honour bestowed to only a few) in the year 1972.
[10] In 1988, was conferred the “Dhanvantari Award”, first time awarded in the field of ENT, for his notable contribution to science of medicine
