The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh awarded the Certificates of Appreciation to the Ministries/Departments based on their performance in the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS),
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jitendra Singh said that the number of grievances received have increased in the last two years. It is an indication of increasing faith of the citizens in the grievance redressal mechanism, he added. He also said that he himself and the senior officers of Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) have been personally calling the citizens whose grievances have been redressed. These calls are made at random to the citizens to take feedback from them and to ascertain their satisfaction level.
The CPGRAMS is an online web enabled application to facilitate speedy redress of public grievances as it allows for online lodging and status tracking of grievances by the citizens. The system is flexible enough to be extended to multiple levels as per the requirement of concerned Ministry/Department/ Govt. Organization for speedy forwarding and redress of grievance.

Aadhaar Not Mandatory for Filing Grievances :Govt In Lok Sabha

[New Delhi]Aadhaar for Filing Grievances Voluntary:Govt In Lok Sabha
The government has introduced voluntary mentioning of Aadhaar card number while lodging grievances on governance-related matters through an online platform, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number which acts as a proof of identity and address anywhere in the country.
Grievances are now also being monitored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself through the online Proactive Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI), wherein grievances identified for systemic changes are discussed through video conferencing with the secretaries concerned.
A total of 8,81,132 public grievances were received last year as against 2,70,255 such complaints in 2014, as per an official data.
The grievances can be filed against any government organisation in the country through this portal.
Recently, voluntary mentioning of Aadhaar card number has been introduced along with other relevant information for the purpose of lodging of public grievances on CPGRAMS, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh said in a written reply to the Lower House.
“However, it is not mandatory and is purely voluntary for assisting in better resolving of grievances,”
