(Chd,Apr 28) Night Curfew Extended by Three Hours in Chandigarh
Chandigarh administration on Wednesday announced extension of curfew period by three hours.
The night curfew will start from 6 pm till 5 am and the fresh curbs will come into force from Thursday till further orders, Presently, the curfew timings are from 9 pm till 5 am.
The administration also directed all shops, malls and multiplexes to be closed by 5 pm while home delivery of items will be allowed till 9 pm.
The Union Territory administration also directed all educational institutions, schools, colleges, coaching institutions, libraries, etc. to remain closed till May 15.
The city has been witnessing a rise in COVID-19 cases. Chandigarh had on Tuesday reported a record 837 fresh infections, taking the coronavirus tally to 40,350.

The Enforcement Directorate has recovered Rs 30 lakh cash and 2.5 kg gold from the premises of a prominent tailor
ED officials has also recovered Rs 2.19 crore cash from a cloth merchant
Acting on tip off, the sleuths of ED swooped down on the premises of Maharaja Tailor in Mohali (Punjab) and at sector 22 in Chandigarh.
The seizure included Rs 18 lakh in Rs 2,000 denomination and while the rest was in Rs 100 and 50 denominations,
Meanwhile, the Chandigarh Police had arrested a senior bank employee of a private bank in Mohali for allegedly providing new currency to cloth merchant Inderpal Mahajan on commission basis.
ED had seized Rs 2.19 crore including Rs 17.74 lakh in Rs 2,000 denomination, Rs 12,500 in Rs 500 denomination from the house of Mahajan on December 14.

Chandigarh Cyber Crime Investigation Cell today said that Munish Kumar, resident of Delhi’s Dwarka area, was arrested after he was found running a portal www.saveinkart.com to dupe customers,
A complainant said that he had received a call from an unknown number from Delhi that he could win a Royal Enfield motorcycle, following which he paid Rs 1,17,000 to Kumar online,
Acting on a tip off, police conducted a raid at a residential complex in Mehrauli in Delhi and found a call centre being run from the house where fake invoices generated by the company were recovered,

Central Govt.Supports UT Chandigarh in Managing Avian Influenza H5N1

[New Delhi] Central Govt.Supports Chandigarh in Managing Avian Flu
Shri JP Nadda ,Today,directed central team to visit Chandigarh to support the UT in managing Avian Flu
Further to the reports of deaths of wild birds at Sukhna lake in Chandigarh, and notification by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (DAHDF), Government of India regarding outbreak of Avian Influenza H5N1 among the wild birds of Sukhna Lake on 17 December 2014,Shri Nadda, directed immediate dispatch of a central team of three members to visit and technically assist the Union Territory of Chandigarh in managing Avian Influenza, and for preventing this from affecting humans.
The central team was deputed on 18 December 2014. The team has visited the affected areas and initiated a micro plan to prevent human cases of Avian Influenza.
This includes active house to house surveillance to detect persons who may have got exposed to the infected birds.
Minister Denied human case of Avian Influenza in this outbreak.

केन्‍द्र शासित चंड़ीगढ़ में उद्यम विकास अधिनियम-2006 अभी तक लागू नहीं

केन्‍द्र शासित चंड़ीगढ़ में उद्यम विकास अधिनियम-2006 अभी तक लागू नहीं हुए हैं केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने इन्हें तत्काल लागू किये जाने के निर्देश दिए केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने आज केन्‍द्र शासित डिवीज़न के कामकाज की समीक्षा के दौरान यह निर्देश दिए
गृह मंत्री श्री राजनाथ सिंह ने आज यहां गृह मंत्रालय के केन्‍द्र शासित डिवीज़न के कामकाज की समीक्षा के दौरान उन्होंने पाया कि –
सूक्ष्‍म, लघु और मध्‍यम उद्यम विकास अधिनियम-2006 को संसद ने कानून बनाया था, जिसे विभिन्‍न राज्‍य सरकारें लागू करने की प्रक्रिया में हैं, लेकिन केन्‍द्र शासित प्रदेश चंड़ीगढ़ को अभी इसे लागू करना है।
यह अधिनियम बीमार, मध्‍यम और लघु इकाइयों को पुर्नजीवित करने में महत्‍वपूर्ण भूमिका निभायेगा। गृह मंत्री ने निर्देश दिया कि केन्‍द्र शासित चंड़ीगढ़ से कहा जाए कि वह इस अधिनियम को जल्‍द और नियत समय पर लागू करे।
इसके आलावा केन्‍द्र शासित चंड़ीगढ़ में धरोहर संरक्षण समिति पर भी चर्चा हुई | गृह मंत्री ने यह सुनिश्चित करने का निर्देश दिया कि इससे निजी सम्‍पत्ति पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव नहीं पड़े। यदि किसी निजी सम्‍पत्ति को धरोहर घोषित किया जाना है, तो पर्याप्‍त पूरक प्रावधानों के लिए धरोहर संबंधी नियमों की व्‍यवस्‍था हो।
चंडीगढ़ के आलावा दमन दीव की समीक्षा के दौरान गृह मंत्री ने निर्देश दिया कि दमन और दीव में तीन पुलों के निर्माण में तेजी लाई जाए:ये पुल हैं :
क) नानी दमन पर काछीगाम और मोटी दमन पर जारी (41.77 करोड़ रुपये) को जोड़ने वाले दमन गंगा नदी पर पुल।
ख) नानी दमन पर काछीगाम मोटी दमन पर मगरवाड़ा (62.24 करोड़ रुपये) को जोड़ने वाले पुल।
ग) मोटी दमन लाइट हाऊस से नानी दमन जेटी तक केबल पुल (102.14 करोड़ रुपये)।
गृह मंत्री ने केन्‍द्र शासित दमन और दीव में यथा शीघ्र इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज शुरू किये जाने पर बल दिया
दमन ओर दीव प्रशासन द्वारा तीन म‍हीने में दमन गंगा नदी की सफाई की कार्य योजना तैयार करने को भी कहा |
गृह मंत्री ने कहा कि पर्यावरण संतुलन की रक्षा और सुरक्षा के पहलुओं को ध्‍यान में रखते हुए अंडमान-निकोबार द्वीप और लक्षद्वीप में पर्यटन को बढ़ावा दिया जाए।के
पुद्दुचेरी की अस्थिर वित्‍तीय स्थिति पर गृह मंत्रालय सघन निगरानी रखी जाये |

NAPA has demanded international flights from Amritsar to Sanfrancisco
Ahead of the Promised visit of Indian Prime Minister North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has sought the intervention of Prime Minister for early resume of the Air India’s Amritsar-Sanfrancisco flight and expediting clearance of international flights from Mohali airport for facilitating the non-resident Indians, especially Punjabis living in United States.
Satnam Singh Chahal executive director of NAPA in a letter sent to Prime Minister + Ashok Gagapathi Indian Civil Aviation Minister +Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has urged for this cause
In this communiqué to Narendra Modi and Ashok Gagapathi , Chahal pleaded that many of the NRIs were facing difficulties due to the lack of direct flight between Amritsar and Sanfrancisco. With more than 63% of passengers checking in at the Delhi airport belonging to Punjab, it is imperative for the government of India to facilitate their movement by starting more direct international flights from Amritsar and expedite clearance of international flights from the upcoming Mohali airport,” Chahal has also alleged that progress of the Mohali airport was quite slow and it needed to be expedited.
