As per Official release ,International flight operations have commenced at Chennai Airport from 6 AM today,
The night flight operations will also continue,
According to AAI, five flights including one international flight arrived and departed from Chennai airport till 1130 hours today.
Chennai Airport was declared fit for full scale operations including international and night services yesterday by the aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation after it conducted inspection of the runway.
Today’s flight operation status at the airport at 11.30 AM is as follow:
1]TRJ201, TruJet from Shamshabad to Chennai arrived at 0830 hrs.
2]AIC1546, Air India from Shamshabad to Chennai arrived at 0901 hrs.
3]TRJ202, Trujet from Chennai to Shamshabad departed at 0910 hrs.
4]AX868, Express India from Singapore to Chennai arrived at 1000 hrs.
5]JAI350, Jet Air from Mumbai to Chennai arrived at 1010 hrs.

All airlines have cancelled their operations from Chennai airport.
Spicejet has cancelled all its flights till tomorrow, while
Jet Airways has cancelled all its flights to and from Chennai for today.
Union Minister for Civil Aviation Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju said everything has been paralysed at the airport.

[Chennai,TN] 8 Kg Smuggled Gold@Rs 2.75 Crore Recovered From Chennai Airport
Customs officials today recovered eight kgs of gold valued at Rs 2.75 crore at the airport here.
A total of 5.5 kg of gold was found in two separate unclaimed bags while a passenger was found carrying 2.5 kg of the precious metal in his hand baggage, airport officials said.
Investigation was on to ascertain who had left behind the bags while the passenger, who arrived from Bangkok, was detained for inquiry, they said.
