State Vigilance Bureau has scored 15 in 11 different trap cases This includes 5 police personnel and 3 employees of revenue department.
As per Chief Director-cum-ADGP vigilance bureau Punjab B.K. Uppal VB said that the Bureau has submitted challans pertaining to 12 vigilance cases in various special courts in the last month. Apart from this, one vigilance enquiry has also been registered to thoroughly probe the corruption cases against public servants.
Giving more details, he informed that special courts have decided two bribery cases filed and contested by the Bureau during last month, in which six accused namely
Sarabdial Singh, Personnel Assistant to former Punjab Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike,
Amrik Singh, Dalip Singh, Ninder Singh Sarpanch,
Mohit Sarin and Maninder SIngh both bank employees, were convicted and sentenced with imprisonments ranging from 6 years to 4 years and fine from Rs. 2,30,000/- to Rs. 30,000 by the Additional Sessions Judge, Amritsar.
Similarly, in another case, Sukhdev Singh, Patwari posted in Taran Taran district was convicted and sentenced with 3 and 4 Years imprisonments under two different sections of PC Act and fine of Rs. 5,000/- by the Additional Session Judge, Taran Taran.

Punjab State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption, has been able to nab 12 officials red handed accepting bribes in 9 different trap cases during the month of July, This catch includes 6 police personnel, 3 employees of revenue department and 3 belonging to other departments.
As per chief director-cum-ADGP vigilance bureau Punjab B.K. Uppal said the VB has put up its best efforts to stamp out corruption amongst public servants and others in every sphere during the period. In this direction, the vigilance officers have ensured that suspect did not escape judicial punishment in the various courts in the State,
Bureau had submitted challans pertaining to 12 vigilance cases in various special courts in the last month. Apart from this, 7 vigilance enquires have also been registered to thoroughly probe the corruption cases against public servants. In addition to this 2 criminal cases have also been registered after through probe.
