Nearly 80 AAP volunteers were placed under preventive arrest today when they were protesting close to Secretariat in Porvorim near here, where the state Assembly session is underway.
The AAP volunteers were marching towards the Assembly complex protesting against the failure of the legislators to raise an issue about Dilip Malavankar, brother-in-law of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar
He was arrested last year for allegedly taking bribe at his office in Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).
The capital city witnessed traffic chaos when AAP protesters were stopped on Mandovi bridge, which leads to the Assembly complex.
AAP’S Goa Unit had last month submitted a memorandum signed by over 10,000 people to Parsekar,

As per Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar centre’s Ujala scheme state may save Rs 5.5 crore
Parsekar Said “We are providing subsidy of Rs 3 per unit to consumers.
The financial liability on government due to this subsidy comes to around Rs 11 crore annually,” he told a gathering after distributing LED bulbs at a function
The CM said if consumers switch over to LED bulbs, the state will save Rs 5.5 crores, which otherwise it will have to pay to subsidise the power.
Parsekar apprised that Central government has provided LED bulbs at the cost of Rs 76 each under the scheme.
“But Goa government decided to provide three LED bulbs free of cost to each consumer,”
He said the LED bulbs would be distributed across 220 to 222 places in the state.
The government on Wednesday had announced that it will provide 15 lakh free LED bulbs to 4.89 lakh consumers.

Chief Minister of Goa, Laxmikant Parsekar today called on the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and presented him a cheque worth Rs. 1.9 crore towards Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar was also present on the occasion.
