Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu said that The world is facing serious challenges as the US is taking protectionist measures and India needs to explore ways to boost exports,.
He said the US is taking “very strong” measures against all its major trading partners including China.
The comments came amid US President Donald Trump imposing USD 60 billion of tariffs on Chinese imports, and also increasing import tariff on steel and aluminium in case of India.
Yesterday, President Trump imposed USD 60 billion of tariffs on Chinese imports, a move that could escalate the already tense trade relations between the world’s two biggest economies.
The minister further said the government is taking steps to promote shipments.
“All must take steps to promote exports..We are trying to explore new markets and products by doing market research,” He was attending a function . While interecting with Media Prabhu said India is meeting leaders of some African countries to promote exports in the region

CII Ensures to Play Critical Role In Enforcing Delhi As a Knowledge Hub

Mr Anil Baijal, Lieutenant Governor, Delhi inaugurated CII Delhi State Annual Session and Business Conference. He said “One of the biggest issues that Delhi is facing apart from Pollution is Traffic Congestion. There are more than 77 corridors which suffer with traffic jams on a daily basis due to poor engineering and designing.” He further added “We have made a two-fold plan – A constructive plan and a regulative plan. Through these plans we will be able to tackle Traffic Congestion in 16 months. To reduce dust, we will start mechanized sweeping of roads soon.” He further said “PUC check of cars now would be linked with car insurance. Also, soon we will make it mandatory for cooperative housing societies to have solar panels on rooftops.”
This Conference was also attended by Satyendar Jain, Minister of Industry, Health & Power, and
Kailash Gahlot, Minister of IT, Law & Justice Government of NCT of Delhi in different sessions.
Industrislist Nikhil Sawhney, ensured that they “will play a critical role in enforcing Delhi’s position as a knowledge hub”. He said “Investing in an electric vehicle ecosystem is the ask of the hour”
During the Conference, CII also launched a Radio Campaign in collaboration with Fever 104 FM called the “Delhi Positive” Campaign to give Delhi an optimistic and progressive identity.

[Hyderabad] Adi Godrej Openly Opposes Liquor Prohibition Says “I Am Against Liquor Prohibition” It Does Not Work
Veteran industrialist Adi Godrej has spoken out against liquor prohibition, saying it won’t work and would be a futile exercise to enforce it.
“I am against liquor prohibition”, the Chairman of Godrej Group told PTI when asked for his views on the issue, with Bihar enforcing prohibition.
“I am not an expert on social issues but it does not work”, added Godrej, Adi Is Former President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
“Even when America had prohibition, it led to mafia being formed etc.
Successful Industrialist Says , In India also prohibition has not worked. It’s fruitless trying prohibition.
I don’t think we should encourage it”,
In response to a question, Godrej favoured state funding of elections in India.
He said “Yes. It will reduce corruption in my view”,
