There are 3,429 active COVID-19 cases in the state, as of now
According to a medical bulletin
Ludhiana reported 44 new cases,
Jalandhar 42 cases and
Patiala 28 cases,
among the fresh cases reported in the state
A total of 315 coronavirus patients were discharged after recovering from the infection, taking the number of cured persons to 1,58,219, it said.
Nine critical patients are on ventilator support while 75 are on oxygen support
39,37,741 samples have been collected for testing so far in the state.

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij was on Wednesday discharged from Gurgaon’s Medanta Hospital where he had undergone treatment for COVID-19.
Minister Tweeted He will now stay at his Ambala residence on oxygen support,
Over the past some days, Vij had been showing steady improvement. He was admitted to Medanta hospital on December 15. Earlier He was Shifted from ICU to Room
Vij, a BJP MLA from Ambala Cantt, had tested positive for COVID-19 on December 5. Initially, he was admitted to the Civil Hospital at Ambala and later shifted to the PGIMS, Rohtak, before being hospitalised at Medanta.
The firebrand BJP leader had offered to be the first volunteer in the phase three trials for Covaxin, an indigenous potential vaccine being developed by Bharat Biotech against COVID-19.
He was administered a dose on November 20 at the Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantonment.
Bharat Biotech had said that clinical trials of the vaccine are based on a two-dose schedule, given 28 days apart. The vaccine efficacy will be determined two weeks after the second dose,
Covaxin has been designed to be protective two weeks after volunteers receive the second dose.
The Union health ministry had also stepped in to say that Covaxin is a two-dose anti-coronavirus vaccine and that Vij was given only the first dose a fortnight before he tested positive.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare chaired the 22nd meeting of the high-level Group of Ministers (GoM) on COVID-19 by a video-conference, here today. He was joined by Dr S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs and Sh. Hardeep S. Puri, Minister of Civil Aviation, Sh. Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State, Health & Family Welfare and Sh. Nityanand Rai, Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs. Dr. Vinod K Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog, Sh. Amarjeet Sinha, adviser to Hon. Prime Minister and Sh. Bhaskar Khulbe, adviser to Hon. Prime Minister were present virtually.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan began the meet by expressing deep gratitude to all the COVID warriors who have been steadfast in their duty without any fatigue throughout the pandemic which is in its twelfth month. He also informed his colleagues of the gains made by the country’s public health system against COVID and the encouraging results so far. “ Health Minister said “India’s Recovery Rate has peaked to 95.46% while the strategy of testing 1 million samples has decreased the Cumulative Positivity Rate to 6.25%”

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 91,00,792 pushing the national recovery rate to 94.37 per cent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.45 per cent.
India’s COVID-19 caseload rose to 96.44 lakh, while the total number of people who have recuperated from the disease crossed 91 lakh pushing the national recovery rate to 94.37 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
The COVID-19 active caseload plunged to almost 4 lakh after 138 days.
The total coronavirus cases mounted to 96,44,222 with 36,011 new infections being reported in a day, while the death toll crossed to 1.40 lakh with 482 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.
There are 4,03,248 active coronavirus infections in the country which comprises 4.18 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5. It went past 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, and surpassed 90 lakh on November 20.
According to the ICMR, 14,69,86,575 samples have been tested up to December 5 with 11,01,063 samples being tested on Saturday.

हरियाणा के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री अनिल विज कोरोना वायरस से संक्रमित पाए गए हैं। उन्होंने पिछले महीने परीक्षण के तौर पर कोरोना वायरस के खिलाफ विकसित किए जा रहे स्वदेशी कोवैक्सिन का टीका लिया था।
विज ने ट्वीट करके शनिवार को संक्रमित होने की जानकारी दी। उन्होंने एक ट्वीट के माध्यम से जानकारी देते हुए अपील की है कि हाल में उनके संपर्क में जो लोग आए हैं, वे जांच करा लें।
जननायक जनता पार्टी (जेजेपी) के तीन सदस्यों वाले एक प्रतिनिधि मंडल ने विज से शुक्रवार को मुलाकात की थी और कृषि कानूनों के खिलाफ ‘दिल्ली चलो’ मार्च में शामिल होने वाले किसानों के खिलाफ दर्ज मामलों को वापस लेने की अपील की थी। जेजेपी राज्य में भाजपा की सहयोगी पार्टी है।
विज ने कोविड-19 के खिलाफ संभावित टीके कोवैक्सिन के तीसरे चरण के परीक्षण में पहला स्वयंसेवी बनने की पेशकश की थी और उन्हें 20 नवंबर को इसकी खुराक अम्बाला कैंट के सिविल अस्पताल में दी गई थी।
कोवैक्सिन स्वदेशी टीका है और भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद (आईसीएमआर) के साथ मिलकर भारत बायोटेक इसे विकसित कर रही है।

Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Chairman of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) distributed masks and soaps at the Old Delhi Railway Station today.
Emphasizing on the importance of wearing Mask and washing of hands, Dr Vardhan said, “We will soon be completing eleven months in our fightagainst COVID. Since then, the most important principle to protect ourselves and others is to follow basic principles of hygiene and physical distancing. In fight against COVID, our biggest weapon is mask and sanitizer.”
Speaking on the COVID situation in India, Dr Vardhan highlighted the progress in COVID parameters . He said, “ India has one of the highest recovery rate in the whole world. From 1 lab in January 2020, we now have 2165 labs. More than a million people are being tested on a daily basis. We have completed 14 Crore cumulative tests today. This all shows the determination of government and relentless efforts of our corona warriors whose contribution is significant in fighting the pandemic.”

Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s these orders will be effective from December 1.
Night curfew will remain in force from 10 p.m. and 5 a.m
Fine for now following Covid appropriate behaviour shall be hiked from the present ₹ 500 to ₹ 1000.
The Chief Minister has also directed the Health and Medical Education departments to make emergency appointments of specialists, super-specialists, nurses and paramedics, to further augment the manpower which was recently strengthened with the recruitment of 249 specialist doctors and 407 medical officers. The departments have also been asked to consider preparing 4th and 5th year MBBS students as reserve and back-up, in case needed in the future.
To ensure that no deaths take place in home isolation, Captain Amarinder said the agency hired to look into these cases should keep close tabs on such patients. While mortality audit was ongoing,

The number of active cases remained below 5 lakh for the thirteenth consecutive day.There are 4,43,486 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country as on date which comprises 4.85 per cent of the total caseload
The national recovery rate was recorded 93.68 per cent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.46 per cent.
India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5. It went past 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, and surpassed 90 lakh on November 20.
According to the ICMR, over 13.25 crore samples have been tested up to November 22 with 8,49,596 samples being tested on Sunday.
