Kejriwal to Hold Six Rallies against Demonetisation
The AAP today announced that it will organise six rallies across the nation, including one in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi, and raise questions on the alleged “Rs 8 lakh crore scam” related to it.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold three rallies in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh starting from December 1 in Meerut, followed by a rally in Varanasi and Lucknow on December 8 and 18 respectively,
Modi has defeated Kejriwal from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat in May 2014 by a massive margin of 3.37 lakh votes.
The rallies assume significance as UP goes to polls early next year.
AAP leader Ashish Khetan said.
On December 20, Kejriwal will hold a rally in Bhopal, followed by two more in Ranchi and Jaipur on December 22 and 23 respectively.
Notably, all three are BJP-ruled states.

Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh today castigated the government and the Prime Minister over the move, saying its implementation was a “monumental management failure” and a case of “organised loot and legalised plunder.”
Singh, who spoke in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rajya Sabha, said the decision will result in decline of GDP by 2 per cent, it being an “under-estimate”.
He hoped the Prime Minister will find a practical and pragmatic decision to mitigate the sufferings of the common man and the poor who have been in distress after the decision.
He said agriculture, unorganised sectors and small industry has also been hit hard by it and people were losing faith in the currency and banking system.
“It is not my intention to pick holes what this side or other side does. But I sincerely hope that the PM even in this late hour will help find us practical and pragmatic ways to provide relief to the suffering of the people of this country,” he said in Rajya Sabha as the debate on the issue resumed after Modi came into the House.
Earlier, Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad requested Chairman Hamid Ansari and Leader of the House Arun Jaitley that the Question Hour should not be taken up as the Prime Minister was present in the House and the debate be taken up.
Azad’s request was readily accepted by the government with Jaitley saying that the debate should start immediately and Modi will certainly participate in it.
Participating in the resumed debate, Singh said it is important to take note of the grievances of the ordinary people who have suffered as a result of this imposition on the country “overnight” by the Prime Minister.

Central Govt Today Announced No Transaction Charges on Debit Card Payments
Last yaer There were 61.5 crore debit card users and 2.3 crore credit card holders.
Central government today said no transaction charges will be levied on debit cards till December 31.
All public sector banks and some private sector ones have agreed to waive the transaction cost for all payments made through debit cards, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das told reporters
The move comes after the government reviewed the situation post demonetisation of 500 and 1,000 rupee notes and decided to encourage digital payments.
As of now, Rupay debit cards have already waived the switching charges. Other debit cards which operate international card network companies like Mastercard and Visa, currently charge transaction charges.
So far, customers bear the transaction cost commonly known as merchant discount rate (MDR) on payments made to the government.
“The MDR charges on use of debit cards, the charges being levied by the banks and the switching charges will stand completely waived. So, there will be no charge on use of debit cards.
Secretry said the intention behind this decision is to ensure greater penetration of digital transactions into our economy and to ensure that more and more people migrate towards digital transactions.
The Reserve Bank in 2012 had capped the MDR for debit card transaction at 0.75 per cent for transaction values up to Rs 2,000 and at 1 per cent for transaction values above Rs 2,000. However, there is no RBI cap on MDR on credit card payments.
In order to move towards ‘less-cash’ society by developing a card acceptance infrastructure, the RBI had in March came out with a concept paper to encourage card transactions and sought public opinion.
As of October 2015, there were 61.5 crore debit card users and 2.3 crore credit card holders in the country.
The Task Force on promotion of payments through cards and digital means has flagged issues with respective government departments

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked the people to directly convey their views to him on demonetisation via his App.
He asked the public to participate in a survey where a number of questions have been posed with regard to scrapping of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.
“I want your first-hand view on the decision taken regarding currency notes. Take part in the survey on the NM App,” he said in a tweet.
The Prime Minister posed questions like, Do you have any suggestions/ideas or insights you would like to share with PM Narendra Modi.
Some of the other questions asked include Do you think black money exists in India. Do you think the evil of corruption and black money need to be fought and eliminated.
What do you think of government’s move of banning old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
The Prime Minister’s move to gauge the views of the people comes at a time when the opposition has escalated its attack on the issue of demonetisation.

कांग्रेस उपाध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी आज सुबह राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में कई एटीएमों पर पहुंचे जहां पर उन्होंने नये नोट निकालने के लिए कतार में लगे लोगों से बातचीत की।

सहित कई इलाकों के एटीएमों पर पहुंचे जहां पर उन्होंने केन्द्र के 500 और 1000 रूपये के नोट हटाने के निर्णय पर लोगों के समक्ष आ रही समस्याओं पर उनसे बातचीत की।
इसे पुर्व राहुल 11 नवंबर को संसद मार्ग स्थित भारतीय स्टेट बैंक भी पहुंचे थे और लोगों के साथ कतार में खडे होकर पुराने नोटों को नये नोटों में बदला था।
पिछले सप्ताह वह मुंबई के उपनगरीय वकोला में एक एटीएम पर अचानक पहुंच गये थे और कतार में खड़े लोगों से बातचीत की थी।
विमुद्रीकरण के आलोचक गांधी ने प्रधानमंत्री पर तीखा हमला शुरू करते हुये कहा कि जब लोग बैंकों और एटीएमों के बाहर रूपया निकालने के लिए कतार में मर रहे हैं तो वह ‘हंस’ रहे हैं और यह निर्णय एक ‘बड़ा घोटाला’ साबित होगा।
उन्होंने दावा किया कि पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह सहित कई अर्थशास्त्रियों ने महसूस किया कि 500 और 1000 रूपये के नोटों को वापस लेने का फैसला तर्कहीन है और ऐसा नहीं लग रहा है कि विजय माल्या और ललित मोदी जैसे काले धन के ‘बड़े खिलाड़ियों’ के खिलाफ सरकार कुछ कर रही है

स्वराज इंडिया ने आम लोगों के बीच जा जाकर “नोटबंदी पर नुक्कड़ जनसुनवाई” का आयोजन रविवार को भी जारी रखा।
जनसुनवाई का आयोजन दिल्ली के लगभग 100 नुक्कड़ों पर किया गया, जहां निम्नलिखित तीन बिंदुओं पर जनता से संवाद किया गया।
1. नोटबंदी का आप, आपके परिवार, आपके काम धंधे पर क्या असर हुआ?
2. क्या जनता की परेशानी काम हो सकती थी? या और कोई रास्ता ही नहीं था?
3. अब भी सरकार क्या करे जिससे जनता की तकलीफ़ दूर हो सके?
नोटबंदी पर नुक्कड़ जनसुनवाई के दौरान हर तरह के विचार सामने आये। इन बिंदुओं पर खुल कर लोगों ने अपनी बात रखी। जिससे स्पष्ट हुआ कि जनता इस निर्णय का समर्थन करे या विरोध लेकिन परेशानी तो हुई है।
स्वराज इंडिया ने हमेशा से किसी भी निर्णय का अंध-समर्थन या अंध-विरोध करने की बजाए देश हित की बात सबसे आगे रखी है। नोटबंदी के मसले पर भी स्वराज इंडिया ने सरकार की घोषणा का समर्थन किया, लेकिन ख़राब तैयारी और ढुल मुल क्रियान्वयन के कारण देश भर में हो रही परेशानी को भी सबके सामने रखा।
स्वराज इंडिया ने पिछले दिनों के अनुभव को देखते हुए देश के सामने एक सकारात्मक सुझाव रखा है। ऐसे समय में जब किसी सार्थक समाधान की बजाये सिर्फ़ आरोप प्रत्यारोप की राजनीति हो रही है, स्वराज इंडिया का प्रस्ताव देश की जनता की परेशानी और पीड़ा को हल करने में मददगार होगा।
पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष योगेंद्र यादव ने सरकार से मांग करते हुए कहा, “नोटबंदी की योजना को 31 दिसंबर से लागू किया जाए और तब तक सभी लोगों को पुराने नोट इस्तेमाल करने की छूट दे दी जाए। यानि जो छूट अभी रेल, पेट्रोल पम्प, सरकारी हस्पताल आदि को है, वो सभी को दे दिया जाए। सरकार चाहे तो इसकी कोई लिमिट बाँध दे ताकि कालेधन के बड़े खेल खेलने वाले फ़ायदा ना उठा सकें। लेकिन मेहनत की कमाई खाने वाले बिना परेशानी के अपने पुराने नोट बदल लें।
इससे काला धन पूरी तरह तो नहीं रुकेगा। इतने दिनों में कई काला धन वाले उसे सफ़ेद करने की तरकीब बना लेंगे। ये हो सकता है। लेकिन सरकार की वर्तमान नोटबंदी से भी तो फ़िलहाल यही हो रहा है। जाली नोट जरूर रुक रहे हैं, लेकिन जो काला धन कैश में लेकर बैठा है वो अपने नोटों को कहीं न कहीं से ‘ऐडजस्ट’ तो कर ही रहा है। असली परेशानी तो सिर्फ आम जनता को हो रही है। कितना अच्छा हो अगर सरकार इस सच को मान ले। उधर विपक्ष वाले भी नोटबंदी को वापिस लेने जैसी बातें बंद कर दें और इस घोषणा से जो फायदे सचमुच हो सकते हैं वो होने दें।
स्वराज इंडिया ने साथ ही मांग किया कि अब सरकार काला धन रोकने के लिए जल्द से जल्द बाक़ी बड़े कदम उठाये – जैसे मॉरीशस की खिड़की को बंद करे, विदेशों में जमा काला धन वापिस लाये, पी-नोट पर पाबन्दी लगाए, भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी कानून को कमजोर न करे, पार्टियों की विदेशी फंडिंग पर रोक लगाए, पूंजीपतियों का क़र्ज़ माफ़ी ना हो, लोकपाल की नियुक्ति करे
