President Donald Trump has said it is a great honour that Facebook has ranked him number one and Prime Minister Narendra Modi number two on their popularity on the social networking site, ahead of his maiden visit to India.
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will pay a state visit to India on February 24 and 25 at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi
Taking to Twitter, Prez claimed to be the number one on Facebook, citing a remark of Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the social media company.
“Great honor, I think? Mark Zuckerberg recently stated that “Donald J. Trump is Number 1 on Facebook. Number 2 is Prime Minister Modi of India.” Actually, I am going to India in two weeks. Looking forward to it!,” Trump tweeted on Saturday.
This is not the first time that the US President has claimed to be the number one and Prime Minister Modi number two on their popularity on Facebook.
Last month in an interview to CNBC TV on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump said: “I’m No.1 on Facebook, you know who’s no.2? Modi from India”.
During his visit to India, Trump, in addition to New Delhi, will also visit Ahmedabad to address a joint public meeting with Modi at a newly-built stadium.

The founder and CEO of Facebook, Mr. Mark Zuckerberg, called on the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Friday
They discussed a wide range of issues revolving around the innovative use of Facebook as a platform to engage with a large audience in the service of humanity.
The Prime Minister spoke to Mr. Zuckerberg about the Swachh Bharat Mission. It may be recalled that that the Prime Minister shared his ‘Why Clean India’ (Before) and ‘My Clean India’ photo along with a video on Facebook on October 3rd, 2014. Mr. Mark Zuckerberg said that Facebook wants to work with the Government of India in the fields of healthcare and education, providing a range of services to the people. Mr. Zuckerberg added that Facebook will help in the creation of the Clean India Mobile App and that it would be launched soon. This would give a strong impetus to the Swachh Bharat Mission.
They also talked about the Digital India initiative. Mr. Zuckerberg said that he is extremely excited about the Digital India initiative of the Government of India. Prime Minister asked Mr. Zuckerberg to identify some domains of Digital India where Facebook can get involved and help.
During the meeting the Prime Minister pointed that a lot of terrorist elements are using social media platforms to recruit members to join them. This is unfortunate and that we need to think of the role social media can play to stop terror, he added.
Shri Modi recalled how he used social media during campaigns such as tracking the missing children, during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat and how it gave wonderful results. The Prime Minister appealed to Mr. Zuckerberg to promote India’s rich tourism potential through Facebook. He asked Facebook to look at how to enhance Internet literacy along with Internet connectivity.
