[New Delhi] Jaitely Quotes IMF and Supports Reforms Of Indian Economy
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has cited IMF reports to highlight how the Narendra Modi-led government through a series of reforms has transformed the “weak economy” it inherited from the UPA government.
Jaitley, in a Facebook post, said ,report of 2014 talks about weak economy during the UPA government and the latest points at near-term macroeconomic outlook broadly favorable and growth forecast rising to 7.3 per cent in FY 2018-19, he said.
Quoting the IMF report of 2014, released in February, Jaitley said there was high fiscal and current account deficits as well as a standstill in infrastructure, power and in the allocation of natural resources.
Taking leaf out of 2018 report, Jaitley said, “Stability-oriented macroeconomic policies and progress on structural reforms continue to bear fruit.”
Quoting from the report he said, economic risks were tilted to the downside.
Domestic risks pertain to tax revenue shortfalls related to continued GST implementation issues and delays in addressing the twin balance sheet problems and other structural reforms, he added.

A complaint, purportedly by BJP MP Kirti Azad, has demanded action against Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) officials for allegedly serving alcohol on a dry day, in violation of the law.
Senior police officials feigned ignorance on the receipt of such a complaint till late night even as a copy of it went viral on social media
However, sources said that the IP Estate Police Station SHO has been asked to look for the complaint, apparently written on the the letterhead of Azad.
In the complaint, dated June 23, 2015, it has been alleged that the Delhi and District Cricket Association’s bar within the premises of Feroze Shah Kotla stadium in central Delhi had served alcohol on dry day (October 2, 2013), which is a violation of Rule 52 of the Delhi Excise Act and provisions of the Prevention of Insult of the Nationals Honours Act (1971).
In the complaint addressed to the Station House Officer of the IP Estate Police Station, the complainant has requested the police to register an FIR against the president, secretary and other members of DDCA for this violation.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was once the chief patron of DDCA. However, the complaint does not mention his name.

केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री अरुणजेटली ने आज पत्रकारों को एक बाइट में बताया कि सरकार स्विट्जरलैंड को वहां के बैंकों में भारतीयों द्वारा जमा काले धन का ब्योरा शीघ्रतापूर्वक उपलब्ध कराने के लिए लिखेगी। जेटली ने बताया कि यदपि आधिकारिक तौर पर सरकार के पास कोई सूचना नहीं आई है और मीडियामें ख़बरें छपी हैं कि स्विट्जरलैंड के बैंक भारतीय खाताधारकों के नाम साँझा करने की तैयारी कर रहा है|ऐसे में भारत सरकार स्वयं अपने स्तर पर पहल करते हुए स्विट्जर लैंड को खत लिखेगी और जानकारी की मांग करेगी | प्रेट्र ने बीते दिन स्विट्जरलैंड के एक अधिकारी के हवाले से कहा था कि कुछ व्यक्तियों और इकाइयों के नामों की जानकारी भारत को दी जा रही है जो वहां के अधिकारियों की जांच के घेरे में हैं। इसी खबर के आधार पर एक दिन बाद वित्त मंत्री ने आज यह बयान दिया है।
जेटली और कांग्रेस नेता मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे दोनों यह कह चुके हैं कि उन्हें इस संबंध में अभी कोई आधिकारिक सूचना नहीं मिली है।खड़गे ने एक टी वी चैनल पर सरकार के पाले में गेंद डालते हुए मांग कि है यदि ऐसी कोई जानकारी सरकार के पास है तो उसे संसद के पटल पर रखा जाना चाहिए |जेटली ने यह स्पष्टीकरण संसदीय मामलों की कैबिनेट समिति :सीसीपीए की बैठक के बाद दिया|
सीसीपीए की बैठक में लिए गए निर्णय के अनुसार संसद का बजट सत्र 7 जुलाई से 14 अगस्त तक चलेगा और इस बीच नरेन्द्र मोदी सरकार का पहला आम बजट 10 जुलाई को पेश किया जाएगा। रेल बजट 8 जुलाई को पेश होगा और आर्थिक सर्वेक्षण 9 जुलाई को पेश किया जायेगा।
