[New Delhi] Private Carrier Spicejet To Increase Income Hiking Its Ticket Cancellation Charges
Now Airline Would charge For domestic Flyers would be Rs 1,899 For Cancellation.
Budget carrier SpiceJet has revised upward its ticket cancellation charges by almost Rs 100 and will be applicable from next month.
The Gurgaon-based airline at present charges Rs 1,800 as cancellation fee for a domestic ticket and Rs 2,250 for an international booking.
The revised cancellation charges would be Rs 1,899 and Rs 2,349, respectively, from February 1,
Air Asia India, another budget airline, has so far the lowest ticket cancellation charges among the peer airlines.
Low Cost Airline IndiGo,Charges Highest Cancelling Charges up to Rs 2,500 for an international ticket and up to Rs 2,250 for a domestic ticket.
GoAir and AirAsia India charge up to Rs 2,249 and Rs 1,502, respectively, for cancelling the tickets of their air services.

[Mumbai] Budget Carrier Go Air to Enhance Connectivity to tier-2, tier-3 And Remote Cities
Pvt Profitable Carrier GoAir today announced to increase the air connectivity to tier 2 and tier 3 cities from the metros and introduce 12 additional daily services from March.
The airline also announced to launch four new routes on its network in upcoming summer schedule, which would this year begin from March 27.
The Wadia Group-promoted airline operates 144 daily flights across 22 domestic destinations with a fleet of 19 Airbus A320 planes.
As part of the new schedule, GoAir will provide a direct connectivity to Leh from Mumbai, and Port Blair from Bengaluru, the airline said in a statement today.
GoAir will be the first domestic airline providing such direct connections to the two remote areas of the country,It will also launch additional frequencies with improved timings, connecting 10 cities.

[New Delhi] Three Airlines Including Indigo Penalized For Concerted Action in Fixing ATF (FSC) on Cargo Transport
Besides, cease and desist order was also issued against the Airlines.
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has imposed penalties upon 3 Airlines for concerted action in fixing and revising Fuel Surcharge (FSC) for transporting cargo.
The final order was passed by CCI on 17.11.2015 in a matter which was filed by Express Industry Council of India against

[2] InterGlobe Aviation Limited,Managing Indigo Airline
[3] Spice Jet Limited,
Apart from these Airlines ,National Carrier Air India Limited and Go Airlines (India) Limited are also found dealing with anti-competitive agreements.
The Commission noted that the Airlines acted in parallel in collusion in fixing FSC rates. Such conduct was found to have resulted in indirectly determining the rates of air cargo transport and thereby in contravention of the provisions of section 3(1) read with section 3(3)(a) of the Act.
Accordingly, penalties of
Rs. 151.69 crores, On Jet Airways (India) Ltd
Rs. 63.74 crores On InterGlobe Aviation Limited For Indigo
Rs. 42.48 crores On Spice Jet Limited
were imposed for the impugned conduct which was found to be in contravention of the provisions of section 3(1) read with section 3(3)(a) of the Act. Besides, cease and desist order was also issued against the Airlines.
No penalty, however, was imposed upon Air India Limited as its conduct was not found to be parallel with other Airlines. Similarly, no penalty was imposed upon Go Airlines (India) Limited as it gave its cargo belly space to third party vendors with no control on any part of commercial/ economic aspects of cargo operations done by vendors including imposition of FSC.
While imposing penalties, the Commission noted that such conduct in the air cargo industry undermines economic development of the country and ultimately acts to the detriment of end-consumers. However, considering the precarious financial position of Airlines, the penalty was imposed by the Commission @ 1% of their average turnover of the last three financial years.

Wadia Group-promoted no-frills airline GoAir has appointed Krishnan Balakrishnan as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Balakrishnan has replaced Siddhartha Datta who quit the airline some time back to pursue other “interests,”
Krishnan has joined Go Air as its Chief Financial Officer yesterday
Prior to moving to Go Air, Balkrishnan was holding the position of Vice President for fleet management at Naresh Goyal-owned full service carrier Jet Airways.
He is the second senior executives to have parted ways with Jet Airways in the recent past as earlier its Chief Commercial Officer Raj Sivakumar also quit the carrier last month.
Significantly, Go Air Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang Prock-Shauer is also formerly from Jet Airways.
Prock-Shauer had quit the airline in October 2009 after serving as its CEO for around six-and-a-half year.
Balakrishnan was one of the key members of Jet Airways team that negotiated the 24 per cent stake sale deal with Etihad in 2013.

The onward journey of a GoAir aircraft, which suffered damage during docking with an aerobridge, remained cancelled today
Airport officials said engineers from Germany and Mumbai were scheduled to attend to the damage.
As per authorities The services of this flight to Port Blair remained cancelled today,
The GoAir Aircraft No.G 8 305 (Mumbai to Port Blair via Chennai) with 168 passengers on board was damaged while docking with an aerobridge yesterday.However, nobody was injured in the incident.

जारी सूचना के अनुसार आमौसी एयरपोर्ट पर शुक्रवार को इंडिगो एयरलाइंस के विमान के इंजन में एक चिड़िया फंसने से यह हादसा हुआ |
बताया गया है कि सुबह 11 बजे एयरपोर्ट के रनवे से इंडिगो एयरलाइंस के विमान (6ई-147) को दिल्ली के लिए उड़ान भरनी थी। एन समय पर इंजन में चिड़िया फंस गई।इससे पूर्व चेन्नई एयर पोर्ट पर गो एयर की एक फ्लाइटहादसे का शिकार हुई है

[New Delhi]National Carrier Also asks Govt to Reconsider Easing of 5/20 Rule To Help New Airlines
The present regulation, popularly known as 5/20 rule, mandates Indian carriers to be in operation domestically for at least five years and have a fleet of 20 aircraft to become eligible to fly on international routes.
National Carrier Air India has asked the Government to “reconsider” the proposed easing of 5/20 rule which will help new airlines to fly overseas without serving much on domestic routes, saying the move will be “detrimental” not only for the national carrier but also against the other established players.
According to sources, senior airline officials met the Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Nayan Choubey today and told the Government that the regulation, allowing a new Indian carrier to fly abroad should be framed in a manner, which does not compromise with the “passengers’ safety” and financial viability of the airlines.
At present, budget carrier GoAir, which had started operations in November 2005, is the only domestic airline among the old players, which is not eligible for overseas operations as it does not have 20 planes.
The Government, however, is in the process of doing away with such a norm and has proposed a complicated formula replacing 5/20, in which domestic flying credits would still be needed for new airlines to fly overseas.
As per the proposed norms, a new airline would be eligible to apply for international operations once it has operated on domestic routes and deployed capacity equivalent to at least 200 domestic flying credits (DFCs).
On reaching the 300 DFC milestone, the air carrier can approach the government for being designated on a long haul international route of more than 6 hours flying time.
The industry, is however, at variance over change of rules as the Federation of Indian Airlines, which has IndiGo, SpiceJet, Jet Airways and GoAir as its members has objected to any relaxations and new entrants Vistara and AirAsia India strongly pitching for scrapping of the rule.
Air India, had in early January too, wrote to the government expressing its reservations over the amendments saying that “the sudden withdrawal of the protection of 5/20 rule, might be the proverbial last nail in the national carrier’s coffin without bringing any significant benefit to the nation.”

फ्लाइट्स को देरी से उड़ाने के पीछे भी कंपनी का अपना व्यवसायिक गणित हो सकता है | फ्लायर्स लोड फैक्टर बढ़ाने के लिए फ्लाइट्स को निर्धारित समय के पश्चात भी रोके रखा जाता है|इससे एक तो फ्लाइट्स को कैंसिल नहीं करना पड़ता+फ्लायर्स भी मिल जाते हैं|कंपनसेशन के नाम पर मात्र रिफ्रेशमेंट का खर्चा ही बुक किया जाता है|
यात्रियों से सम्बंधित विभिन्न शिकायतों के कुल ११९४ मामले दर्ज कराये गए हैं इनमे से इंडिगो एयर लाइन्स कंपनी के विरुद्ध १९८ मामले दर्ज कराये गए जिनमे से एक शिकायत का निस्तारण नहीं हुआ है |
