In a recent video, Trump said, “7 million (70 lakh)” people will be there on the roadshow route.Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra on Wednesday said the number of those expected to be present at the roadshow will be “around one lakh”.
Notably, the total population of Ahmedabad is estimated to be around 70 to 80 lakh.
In a tweet a few days back, Nehra estimated the same figure.

Nearly 2,000 pregnant women set a record by performing yoga in Rajkot, as nearly 1.25 crore people today took part in the second International Yoga Day celebrations held at around 40,000 venues across Gujarat.

The CM practised ‘asanas’ for almost 40 minutes along with more than 30,000 participants, including IPS and IAS officers, MLAs, corporators and BJP leaders, who gathered at the ground this morning.
Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court R Subhash Reddy and Justice K S Jhaveri also practised yoga with other dignitaries.
Ministers and local MLAs and MPs took part in the celebrations in their respective regions.

Gujarat Govt To Set Up SRP Battalion to Boost Security In a bid to strengthen security at critical installations like power plants+ +ports + dams, Gujarat government has decided to create an additional battalion of State Reserve Police (SRP) of 1,200 armed personnel.
At present, Gujarat has 19 SRP battalions comprising around 1,000 armed men and women personnel each stationed at various places across the state. This will be the 20th such battalion,
Apart from guarding the “critical infrastructure”, the new battalion will also be utilised to maintain law and order, state in-charge Inspector General of Armed Unit (SRP) S S Trivedi said.
According to Trivedi ,the state Home department recently gave administrative approval for the formation of the new battalion.
“It will be the 20th such SRP battalion in the state.
Apart from guarding various government infrastructures, such as dams,
.Out of the 19 existing battalions, one each has been allotted to Centre-owned ONGC, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam to protect the dam as well as canals and the newly-created Marine Task Force, according to a resolution passed by the Home department.
Explaining the need to create a new battalion, the resolution cited the request made by several government departments demanding allocation of force to protect their infrastructure.
Now, the state government has decided to form a new SRP battalion by recruiting 1,200 armed personnel with an initial cost of Rs 50 lakh,
The new battalion will be headed by a commandant called Senapati. Others to be inducted include three deputy superintendents of police, seven inspectors, 25 sub-inspectors (PSIs), eight other PSIs of wireless unit, 95 assistant sub-Inspectors, 97 head constables and 847 constables.
The battalion will also have various other support staff, such as radio operators, medical officers, cooks, servants, electricians, typists, barbers and cleaners, the resolution added.

The Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley has said that the facilities at India’s 25 Cultural World Heritage Sites are still deficient and require restoration.
While presenting the General Budget 2015-16 in the Parliament today, the Finance Minister Shri Jaitley has stated that the facilities like landscaping restoration, signage and interpretation centres, parking, access for differently abled, amenities for visitors including securities and toilets, illumination and plans for benefiting communities around them would be restored. The Union Finance Minister Shri Jaitley has proposed to provide resources to start work along these lines for the following Heritage Sites:

2]Hampi, Karnataka
3]Kumbalgarh and other Hill Forts of Rajasthan
4] Rani ki Vav, Patan, Gujarat
5] Leh Palace, Ladakh, J&K

8]Qutub Shahi Tombs, Hyderabad, Telangana
Shri Jaitley proposed to extend the Visas on arrival facility to 150 countries, in stages, after the success of the same issued to travelers of 43 countries.

सर्वोच्च अदालत ने कहा है कि बेशक राज्यपाल मंत्रिपरिषद की सलाह के काम करने के लिए बाध्य है लेकिन जस्टिस मेहता की नियुक्ति सही थी क्योंकि गुजरात हाई कोर्ट के चीफ जस्टिस से सलाह के बाद उन्हें लोकायुक्त बनाया गया था .|
इससे पूर्व जनवरी 2012 में हाई कोर्ट के न्यायमूर्ति वीएम सहाय ने एक खंडपीठ द्वारा राज्यपाल के निर्णय की वैधता पर बंटा हुआ फैसला आने के बाद लोकायुक्त की नियुक्ति को बरकरार रखा था। न्यायमूर्ति सहाय ने संवैधानिक संकट पैदा करने को लेकर गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की खिंचाई करते हुए कहा गया था कि राज्यपाल को नियुक्ति का विवेकाधीन अधिकार होता है। मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा लोकायुक्त मुद्दे को लेकर की जा रही उछलकूद- नौटंकी लोकतंत्र के विखंडन को दर्शाती है। हाई कोर्ट के आदेश को चुनौती देते हुए राज्य सरकार ने दलील दी थी कि अपने विवेक का इस्तेमाल करते हुए राज्य सरकार की सलाह लिए बिना लोकायुक्त की एकतरफा नियुक्ति अवैध है। साथ ही हाई कोर्ट द्वारा मोदी के खिलाफ इस्तेमाल किए गए कड़े शब्दों पर एतराज जताते हुए टिप्पणियों को हटाने की मांग की गई है। राज्यपाल ने आठ वर्ष से खाली पड़े लोकायुक्त के पद पर 25 अगस्त 2011 को सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश मेहता की नियुक्ति कर दी थी।
