(Chandigarh)Pb & Hary Court Gets New Chief Justice In Ravi Shankar Jha
Justice Jha, {58} who was earlier the acting chief justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, was sworn in as the 35th chief justice of the twin states’ high court by Punjab Governor V P Singh Badnore.
Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singhm state assembly Speaker Rana K P Singh and Chief Secretary Karan Avtar Singh were also present
The family members of the newly-appointed chief justice too were present on the occasion.
The post had fallen vacant following the elevation of Justice Krishna Murari to the Supreme Court last month. Pending appointment of a new chief justice, Justice Rajiv Sharma was officiating as the acting chief justice of high court.

High Court of Punjab & Haryana Gets New Judge And 2 Additional Judges
Shri Justice Ashutosh Mohunta, Judge of the High Court of Telangana and Aandhra Pradesh has been transferred to the High Court of Punjab & Haryana.
The President,Of India after consultation with the Chief Justice of India has directed Shri Justice Ashutosh Mohunta to assume charge of his office in the Punjab & Haryana High Court on or before 30th June, 2014.
President has also appointed (i) Smt. Rekha Mittal and, (ii) Shri Inderjit Singh to be Additional Judges of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana for a period of two years with effect from 15th June, 2014.
