उच्‍च शिक्षा पर अखिल भारतीय स्तर का वार्षिक सर्वेक्षण शुरू

केंद्रीय मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय ने उच्‍च शिक्षा पर अखिल भारतीय सर्वेक्षण (एआईएसएचई) 2014-15 का शुभारंभ किया
मंत्रालय में उच्‍च शिक्षा विभाग के सचिव, श्री सत्‍य नारायण मोहन्‍ती ने आज दिल्‍ली में उच्‍च शिक्षा पर अखिल भारतीय सर्वेक्षण (एआईएसएचई) 2014-15 का शुभारंभ किया।
मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय के अनुसार यह सर्वेक्षण 2010-11 से उच्‍च शिक्षा की स्थिति पर की जा रही एक वार्षिक, वेब-आधारित अखिल भारतीय प्रक्रिया है, जिसमें देश के उच्‍च शिक्षा के सभी संस्‍थान शामिल किए जाते हैं। अभी तक मंत्रालय ने एआईएसएचई 2011-12 की अंतिम और एआईएसएचई 2012-13 की अंतिम रिपोर्ट जारी की हैं। सर्वेक्षण प्रक्रिया लगातार चौथे वर्ष की जा रही है और एआईएसएचई 2013-14 जो 17 जून, 2014 को आरंभ की गई थी जो कि अब भी प्रक्रियाधीन है।
अक्‍टूबर में शुरू की गई एआईएसएचई 2014-15 में उच्‍च शिक्षा सांख्‍यिकी के प्रचार-प्रसार में समय अंतराल को समाप्‍त कर दिया गया है।
इस वार्षिक सर्वेक्षण में शिक्षकों, छात्रों के नामांकन, कार्यक्रमों, परीक्षा परिणामों, शिक्षा वित्‍त, बुनियादी सुविधाओं जैसे अनेक मानकों के बारे में आंकड़े एकत्र किए जाते हैं। ऐसे मानकों और एकत्र किए गए आंकड़ों का उपयोग शिक्षा के विकास में सोच-समझकर नीतिगत निर्णय लेने और अनुसंधान आयोजित करने में किया जाता है। यह सर्वेक्षण मजबूत डाटाबेस बना रहा है जिसे संस्‍थानों द्वारा प्रस्‍तुत की गई जानकारी के अनुसार प्रतिवर्ष अपडेट किया जा रहा है।

First Lady Of U S A Michelle Obama Announced Initiative to Inspire Young People For Higher Education.
At the University of Texas at San Antonio, the First Lady announced the Reach Higher initiative It Is an effort to inspire more young people to take control of their future through higher education.First Lady Is The First College Goer In Her Family.
The initiative will focus on things like financial aid+ summer learning opportunities+ and college visits, to help more students get into college and go all the way
First Lady Michelle Obama, On January 16, 2014 Has said “Education is the key to success for so many kids. And my goal specifically is to reach out directly to young people and encourage them to take charge of their futures and complete an education beyond high school.”
In today’s economy, a high school diploma just isn’t enough. Students have to reach higher, which is why the First Lady is working to rally the country around the President’s “North Star” goal — that by 2020, America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world.Expanding Opportunity
The Reach Higher initiative will help make sure all students understand what they need to complete their education, including:
Exposing students to college and career opportunities
[1]Understanding financial aid eligibility that can make college affordability a reality
[2]Encouraging academic planning and summer learning opportunities
[3]Supporting high school counselors who can help more kids get into college

Center Will Provide support for 5000 faculty positions in the higher education

MHRD has proposed to support to RUSA for making provision of 5000 Faculty Positions in Higher Education
The Ministry of Human Resource Development [ MHRD ]proposed to provide for 5000 faculty positions in the higher education under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) during the current Five Year Plan, ending 2017.
Support will be provided to fill positions in the category of Assistant Professors or equivalent cadre against vacancies. A fixed amount of Rs. 5.8 lakh per year for each faculty position will be given by the Centre and any excess over and above this amount due to higher scales, grade pay or DA increase has to be borne by the State Government. The 99,000 crore rupee programme was approved by the Union Cabinet last month to boost the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) to 30% by 2020 from the present about 19%.
All the State universities will be eligible to receive grants under this programme. The recruitment process will have to adhere to UGC norms and regulations.
The funding priorities are as follows:
[1] Commitments of States to take over the liability of faculty positions at the end of the scheme (after 5-8 years, depending on the year in which such positions are sanctioned).
[2] Priority will be given to those states where more recruitment has taken place in the universities and colleges during the last 3 years.
[3] Lowest number of unfilled faculty positions.
[4] Better student-teacher ratio.
[5] Priority will be given to new institutions.
[6] Second priority shall be given to those states which have a faculty-student ratio between 15:1 to 20:1.
[7] States with more than 20:1 ratio will have to first commit to sanction and fill positions to bring down the faculty-student ratio ration to 20:1.
