स्कूल शिक्षा मंत्री पंजाब विजय इंदर सिंगला के अनुसार अकादमिक सैशन 2021-22 के लिए सरकारी स्कूलों के लगभग 13,48,632 विद्यार्थियों को उनके घरों में ही मुफ़्त वर्दियाँ उपलब्ध करवाई जाएंगी और इस संबंधी शिक्षा विभाग द्वारा 80.92 करोड़ रुपए का अनुदान जारी किया गया है। कैबिनेट मंत्री ने कहा कि अपेक्षित अनुदान जारी करने के उपरांत सभी ज़िला शिक्षा अधिकारियों को वर्दियों के उचित प्रबंध करने के लिए विस्तृत निर्देश भी जारी कर दिए गए हैं और विद्यार्थियों को वर्दियों के वितरण दौरान कोविड प्रोटोकॉल का पूर्ण पालन करने के लिए भी कहा गया है। मंत्री के अनुसार वर्दियों की खरीद के लिए यह फंड ज़िला स्तर से सीधे स्कूल प्रबंधन समितियों (एस.एम.सी.) के खाते में डाले जाएंगे।

Punjab school education department has introduced a new subject called ‘Welcome Life’ to inculcate moral values in the students.
This subject has been implemented in all the government, affiliated, associated, aided and unaided schools in the state. This new subject ‘Welcome Life’ has been commenced from the current session 2020-21.
Syllabus for this subject is prepared by the SCERT.On the basis of this syllabus books will be published by Punjab School Education Board and will be made available to the students. School principals are instructed to spend at least one period a week on the subject.
