In a tweet, he also claimed there are now “no jobs” in the Railways. Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday extended his support to those seeking jobs in the Railways and called for stopping the “injustice” towards them.
“Earlier a job in the Railways was an honour, today there are no jobs in the Railways. Soon, the Railways will no longer be what it was earlier. Stop the injustice to the people. We want #JusticeForRailwaysStudents,” he said in a tweet in Hindi.

उत्तर प्रदेश में, भले ही राज्य सरकार ने कोचों की मांग नहीं की है, लेकिन फैजाबाद, भदोही, वाराणसी, बरेली और नजीबाबाद में कुल 800 बिस्तर क्षमता (50 कोच) वाले 10-10 कोच तैनात किये जा चुके हैं।
देश भर में 64,000 कोविड देखभाल बिस्तर वाले 4,000 कोविड देखभाल कोच का प्रावधान किया गया है
रेल मंत्रालय कोविड महामारी की इस दूसरी लहर के दौरान अपने 64,000 बिस्तर क्षमता वाले 4,000 कोचों (आइसोलेशन यूनिट के रूप में तैयार) के माध्यम से राज्य सरकारों की तरफ से मिल रही कोविड देखभाल कोचों की मांग तेजी से पूरा कर रहा है। वर्तमान में उपलब्ध आंकड़ों के अनुसार, इन कोविड देखभाल कोचों में 81 कोविड मरीजों का प्रवेश और इसी क्रम में 22 मरीजों का डिस्चार्ज देखने को मिल रहा है। किसी भी कोविड देखभाल सुविधा में कोई मौत दर्ज नहीं की गई है।
दिल्ली में, रेलवे ने राज्य सरकार की 1,200 बिस्तर क्षमता वाले 75 कोविड देखभाल कोचों की मांग पूरी की है।
इनमें से 50 कोच शकूरबस्ती में खड़े हैं और 25 कोच आनंद विहार स्टेशन पर हैं।
वर्तमान में, शकूरबस्ती पर 5 मरीज भर्ती कराए गए थे और एक मरीज को डिस्चार्ज कर दिया गया है।
बीते साल (2020) में पहली कोविड लहर में, शकूरबस्ती केन्द्र पर 857 मरीज भर्ती और डिस्चार्ज हुए थे।
भोपाल (मध्य प्रदेश) में, रेलवे ने 292 बिस्तर क्षमता वाले 20 आइसोलेशन कोच तैनात किए हैं।
इनमें 3 मरीज भर्ती कराए गए थे और वे वर्तमान में इस सुविधा का इस्तेमाल कर रहे हैं।
नंदरूबार (महाराष्ट्र) में, 292 बिस्तर क्षमता वाले 24 आइसोलेशन कोच तैनात किए गए हैं।
इस केन्द्र में अभी तक 73 लोग भर्ती कराए गए हैं। वर्तमान कोविड लहर में भर्ती हुए 55 मरीजों में से 7 मरीज डिस्चार्ज हो गए हैं।
आज (26.04.2021) को 4 नए मरीज भर्ती हुए। इस यूनिट में 326 बिस्तर अभी तक कोविड मरीजों के लिए उपलब्ध हैं

[Mumbai]Chuk Chuk Punjab Mail Completes 107 Yrs,Deccan Queen Turns 89
The Punjab Mail, one of the oldest long-distance trains in the country, completed 107 years Saturday.
June 1 is also the birthday of the Deccan Queen, which connects Mumbai and Pune. The popular train completed 89 years of its operation Saturday.
The Punjab Mail, or `Punjab Limited’ as it was then called, steamed out on June 1, 1912 from Mumbai, heading for Peshawar, now in Pakistan.
A service meant primarily for white `sahibs’ initially, it soon started catering to lower classes too.
Third class cars started appearing on the Punjab Mail by the mid-1930s.
It got an air-conditioned car in 1945. Now it runs on electric power.
It was known to be the fastest train of British India.
Now its northward journey ends at Firozpur Cantonment after covering 1,930 km within 34 hours and 15 minutes.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi reviewed the progress in handling and resolution of grievances related to post offices and railways today and stressed on the importance of increasing digital transactions across the postal and rail networks.
He also reviewed the progress of nine infrastructure projects in the railway+road+petroleum, and power sectors.
These projects are spread over several states, including
Haryana+Rajasthan+Gujarat+Maharashtra+Uttar Pradesh+Odisha+Bihar+Jharkhand+West Bengal+Telangana+ Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
The projects include the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and the Char Dham Mahamarg Vikas Pariyojna.
Modi took note of the progress made in the implementation of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation. He also reviewed the programme for end-to-end computerisation of targeted PDS operations,
The prime minister was chairing his 26th interaction with officials through “PRAGATI”, an ICT-based multi-modal platform for pro-active governance and timely implementation.
The 25 “PRAGATI” meetings so far have seen a cumulative review of 227 projects with a total investment of over Rs 10 lakh crore.
The resolution of public grievances has also been reviewed across a range of sectors,

Railways have videographed the entire Kanpur-Jhansi track to ascertain the reasons for the derailment of the Indore-Patna Express that has left close to 100 dead.
General Manager of North-Central Railway Arun Saxena told reporters that investigation will be conducted by the Commissioner of Railway Safety.
Asked if someone could have tampered with the tracks, he said the Commissioner of Railway Safety, who will arrive here from Kolkata tomorrow, would be able to provide an answer to it.
“Anyone with further evidence or statements can approach the Commissioner to record his statement,” he said.
He added.”We did videography of the whole track for scrutiny,”
The S1 and S2 coaches of the Indore-Patna Express bore the major brunt of the damage ailment today as they smashed into each other.
The whereabouts of the ticket collectors and staff from the two coaches is also not know,
Two other coaches, S3 and S4 also went off track but were not damaged to a great extent. The third AC BE also suffered damage.
100 have been killed, 76 others grievously injured and 150 others have sustained serious injuries in the derailment.
Prime Minister Of India Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives in this derailment
“Anguished beyond words on the loss of lives due to the derailing of the Patna-Indore express. My thoughts are with the bereaved families,” he said in a tweet
The Prime Minister said that Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu is personally monitoring the situation

A battery was found near the Jalandhar-Pathankot railway track in Mukerian today, throwing security agencies into a tizzy.
After the battery was found at about 10:30 AM, train movement on the rail track was suspended for about 20 minutes,
As per Hoshiarpur Police DSP Bhupinder Singh, “A battery without any wire has been found near the Jalandhar-Pathankot rail track by Government Railway Police in the morning,” .
Police said army personnel were inspecting the battery.
Security agencies have been on alert amid tension between India and Pakistan following surgical strikes on terror launch pads in PoK by the army.
