[New Delhi]Govt to off Load Its Stakes In Loss Making ITDC Hotels
14 out of 16 perennially loss making hotels owned by state-run ITDC will be sold off and the process to privatize them has already started, The Finance Ministry is taking forward the disinvestment plan to totally offload government’s stakes in all the ITDC-run hotels except the Ashoka and Samrat hotels in the national capital.
He said the government decided to privatize the hotels to improve the financial health of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector undertaking that currently runs 16 hotels in
Delhi,
Patna,
Jammu,
Ranchi,
Bhubaneswar,
Puri,
Bhopal,
Bharatpur,
Jaipur,
Guwahati,
Mysore,
Puducherry and
Itanagar.
During NDA’s first stint in power between 1999 and 2004, the then Vajpayee government had divested its stakes in 18 ITDC hotels, bringing down the number of state-run hotels from 34 to 16.

केन्द्रीय पर्यटन (स्वतंत्र प्रभार), संस्कृति (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) एवं नागरिक विमानन राज्यमंत्री डॉ. महेश शर्मा ने नई दिल्ली स्थित जनपथ होटल में भारतीय पर्यटन विकास निगम (आईटीडीसी) के कामकाज की समीक्षा की
इस अवसर पर आईटीडीसी के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों को सम्बोधित करते हुए डॉ. शर्मा ने कहा कि अब से आईटीडीसी की बीमार इकाइयों/होटलों के पुनरुद्धार के लिए कार्य संस्कृति में व्यापक बदलाव लाना होगा।
समस्याओं की पहचान करने+जवाबदेही तय करने +समस्यानिवारण की समय सीमा तय करने और प्रगति पर लगातार नजर रखने के आदेश भी मंत्री द्वारा दिए गए |
मंत्री ने पुनरद्धार का फार्मूला बताते हुए कहा कि
ऐसे होटलों का पुनरुद्धार करने का प्रयास करेंगे जहां थोड़ी-बहुत प्रबंधकीय समस्याएं हैं। वहीं, दूसरी ओर उन होटलों को पट्टे (लीज) पर देना होगा जिनमें समस्याएं काफी गंभीर हैं। उन्होंने इस संबंध में जम्मू स्थित होटल अशोक का उदाहरण दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि विनिवेश अंतिम विकल्प होना चाहिए।
कर्मचारियों के साथ एक अलग बैठक में मंत्री ने उन्हें आश्वस्त करते हुए कहा कि उनकी समस्याएं तीन माह के भीतर सुलझा ली जायेंगी। यही नहीं, कर्मचारियों के साथ बाकायदा विचार-विमर्श के बाद ही सभी मुद्दे सुलझाये जायेंगे।
पर्यटन मंत्रालय में अपर सचिव एवं आईटीडीसी के सीएमडी श्री गिरीश शंकर +पर्यटन मंत्रालय में सचिव डॉ. ललित पंवार, मंत्रालय के अधिकारीगण एवं आईटीडीसी के कर्मचारीगण भी इस अवसर पर उपस्थित थे।
Ministry Acrobatically Arranging Transit Accommodation For New Parliamentarians
Directorate of Estates is working in full swing to provide housing facility to New Parliamentarians .Before the first session of the new Lok Sabha starts early next month,accommodation has already been allotted to 223 lawmakers .

The Directorate of Estates of the Union Ministry of Urban Development has made arrangements for transit accommodation for the newly elected Members of Parliament(MPs) of the 16th Lok Sabha in various State /UT Bhavans/Guest Houses and ITDC hotels in Delhi till the MPs are allotted regular accommodations from the Lok Sabha.
Arrangements have been made for approximately 240 rooms in the State/UT Bhavans/ Guest Houses and 180 rooms in the ITDC Hotels in Delhi and the details in this regard have been communicated to the Lok Sabha Secretariat for making the actual allotment of rooms to the newly elected MPs.
It May Be Added That The former MPs / Union Ministers of 15th Lok Sabha, who could not get re-elected to the 16th Lok Sabha, are entitled for retention of their existing government accommodation for a period of one month only from the date of dissolution of the 15th Lok Sabha/ demission of office by the Union Ministers.
