B J P Has Raised eye brows and demanded explanation on the grant of bail to Jagan Reddy after being held in custody for 16 months.
In a Press Conference , B J P spokesperson ,Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman has said, today, that A total of 10 charge sheets have been filed, spread over several months. However, the prosecutors claim that in nearly 7 cases enough material has not been found, thus further reducing the charges raises doubts in our minds so The CBI has a lot of explaining to do in the case
As per the prevailing law a person held for custodial enquiry/questioning can only be held so for a maximum of 90 days, after which they have to be let off. In this case Jagan was held for 16 months.
Along with Jagan in these cases several cabinet ministers in the present Congress government are also chargesheeted. The ministers are : Smt. Sabita Indira Reddy+ Shri Dharmana Prasad Rao+Smt. Geeta Reddy. How come they are not arrested? Shri Mopidevi Vankat Ramana is in custody. Shri Ponnala Lakshmi Narayana is now only a witness and not an accused.
In May 2013 the Supreme Court ordered the CBI to complete the investigation and file chargesheet within 4 months. Having dragged its feel for over a year under political pressure it rushed to conclude the investigation?
In Party Briefing She Said “The corrupt Congress party too has a lot to answer”
She questioned “How is it that ministers who are chargesheeted still continue in Shri Kiran Reddy’s cabinet”
Why is there a delay in accepting the resignation letters submitted by the charge-sheeted ministers?
How come Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Vice President, Shri Rahul Gandhi don’t speak about continuing corrupt ministers in the cabinet in Andhra Pradesh?
Misusing the CBI, hoping to influence the by-elections, which took place in 2012 the investigation was made to protract. The Supreme Court came down heavily on this. Today, letting Jagan off without much protest, but protecting the named cabinet ministers underlines the BJP’s off-repeated allegation that the CBI has served as a tool for protecting tainted Congressmen.
The gravity of corruption which prevailed during the 2004-2009 late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy led congress government in Andhra Pradesh is coming out in the open now. More than 6 top ranking bureaucrats are arrested and some continue in custody even today. Can the Congress party speak on corruption anymore?
The BJP has accused of misusing the CBI to protect Congress and their friends. In AP corrupt congress cabinet ministers are being protected. In Uttar Pradesh, again in a Disproportionate Asset Case Shri Mulayam Singh is being completely let-off. The CBI files for the closure of this case. We are aware that the case against Shri Mulayam Singh has taken several twists and turns – depending on the urge of the Congress party – either to harass him or to ease the pressure on him when favours are required from the Samajwadi Party.
Congress party’s double standards are clear. When at a time after the shocking failure of the Uttar Pradesh government to maintain Law and order in Muzaffarnagar, instead of taking strict action, they reward by closing a DA case which has been in the court for several years. interestingly the case was filed by a Congressman at the first instance.
The double standard is clear also in the way in which CBI is instructed to handle cases related to Gujarat. The obsessive pursuit and harassment to please political masters standout. Why does the CBI not handle the Andhra Pradesh ministers, both on disproportionate asset or on encounters similarly?
The BJP demands the Congress party explain this double standard. We also demand the Congress party to speak about corruption in Congress ruled Andhra Pradesh.
Surely, there shall be a time when an enquiry shall reveal all about such blatant misuse of the CBI. The misuse of CBI “to protect or shield friends and oppress opponents policy” of the Congress will be exposed.
A well endowed Andhra Pradesh which voted the Congress both in 2004 and in 2009 has been completely let down. The Congress party has looted the wealth of Andhra Pradesh, protected its own tainted ministers and oppressed those who challenge them. The mass scale corruption of Congress regime which funded UPA – I is now completely in the open.
Not just the people of Andhra Pradesh but the people of India will give an appropriate reply to the Congress in the coming election.
