Japan to work with India in finding Sickle Cell Anaemia remedy
Japan today agreed to work with India in inventing treatment for the Sickle Cell Anaemia after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought help for finding remedy to the deadly disease commonly found among tribals in India.

The P M, Shri Modi, today visited the ancient Toji Temple in Kyoto. He was accompanied on the visit to this Buddhist shrine, by the Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.
Indian Prime Minister also visited the Golden Pavilion – the Kinkaku-ji Temple – at Kyoto, where he interacted with a number of visitors who greeted him enthusiastically.
The Prime Minister visited CiRA – Center for iPS Cell Research and Application, at Kyoto University. He interacted with the Center’s Director, Mr. Shinya Yamanaka. The Prime Minister expressed concern over the prevalence of sickle cell anaemia, especially among tribal communities across India. The Prime Minister urged Mr. Yamanaka to work towards a cure for this. Mr. Yamanaka said that there are currently no Indian researchers at his institute, and he would like Indian scientists to conduct research at the institute
