Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath is set to become the Leader of Opposition (LoP) when the monsoon session of the state Assembly begins from July 20.
As per Congress spokesperson Bhupendra Gupta “We have sent a letter to the Assembly secretariat stating that our leader in the House is going to be Nath,”
Nath had to resign as chief minister in March this year after the Congress government lost majority with the exit of 22 MLAs who joined the BJP along with senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia.
With 91 MLAs, the Congress would be the main opposition party in the house.

“The Madhya Pradesh government will not survive for long as it is run by two-and-half-men– Kamalnath, Digvijay Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia,” alleged the BJP leader.
Chouhan, who is in Dhanbad for election-campaign, further alleged that all the three Congress leaders in that state were quarrelling with one of the leaders writing letter to the chief minister every day, “resenting over the function of the government”.

भारत के प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्‍द्र मोदी ने आज मध्‍य प्रदेश के खंडवा में श्री सिंगाजी ताप बिजली परियोजना के चरण-2 (2×660 मेगावाट) का शिलान्‍यास किया |इस अवसर पर उन्होंने ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के लोगों एवं किसानों के एक विशाल समूह को संबोधित भी किया|
खंडवा में श्री सिंगाजी ताप बिजली संयंत्र के चरण-1 को राष्‍ट्र को समर्पित करने के अवसर पर प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में बुनियादी ढांचे के निर्माण के लिए भूमि अधिग्रहण अधिनियम में संशोधन बेहद आवश्‍यक है|
प्रधानमंत्री श्रीमोदी ने कहा कि वर्तमान भूमि अधिग्रहण अधिनियम में संशोधन ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में सड़कों, गरीबों के लिए मकानों, विद्यालयों, अस्‍पतालों एवं सिचांई परियोजनाओं जैसे बुनियादी ढांचागत सुविधाओं के सृजन के लिए अनिवार्य है।
प्रधानमंत्री ने राज्‍यसभा के सभी सदस्‍यों से केंद्र सरकार की पहलों को समर्थन करने की जोरदार अपील की जो भारत के लोगों द्वारा विकास के लिए दिए गए जनादेश को पूरा करने में समर्थ बनाएगा। उन्‍होनें किसानों से विपक्ष के किसान विरोधी नारों से भ्रमित न होने की भावपूर्ण अपील की
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि होली जैसे त्‍यौहार के अवसर पर भी एक बिजली संयंत्र को राष्‍ट्र को समर्पित करने के मौके पर ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों से इतने बड़े जनसमूह का एकत्र होना यह प्रदर्शित करता है कि विकास के प्रयोजन के लिए लोग कितने प्रतिबद्ध हैं।
प्रधानमंत्री ने ऊर्जा को विकास की कुंजी बताया। ऊर्जा को आधुनिक जीवन का अभिन्‍न हिस्‍सा बताते हुए प्रधानमंत्री ने सभी को बिजली की आपूर्ति करने की अपनी प्रतिबद्धता दोहरायी। उन्‍होंने कहा कि पिछले 9 से 10 महीनों में जब से नई सरकार ने पदभार ग्रहण किया है, बिजली उत्‍पादन लगभग 11 % बढ़ गया है। प्रधानमंत्री ने ऊर्जा की बचत करने के महत्‍व पर बल दिया और घरों तथा गलियों में प्रकाश के लिए एलईडी बल्‍बों की सरकारी योजना का जिक्र किया।
श्री नरेन्‍द्र मोदी ने कहा कि सरकार भ्रष्‍टाचार पर अंकुश लगाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है और उन्‍होंने कोयला ब्‍लॉकों की सफल नीलामी का उदाहरण दिया जिससे मध्‍य प्रदेश को भी काफी लाभ पहुंचेगा।
मध्‍य प्रदेश के मुख्‍यमंत्री श्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान और केंद्रीय बिजली राज्‍य मंत्री (स्‍वतंत्र प्रभार) श्री पीयूष गोयल भी इस मौके पर उपस्थित थे।

The Running Parliamentary Shield and Trophy for standing first in the Competition was awarded to DAV Colleges, Jalandhar, Punjab for 2nd time in a row. Besides,
merit trophies were awarded to
(i) University of Kanlyani, Kalyani, West Banga;
(ii) Jai Prakash University, Chhapra, Bihar;
(iii) Jiwaji University, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh and
(iv) S. M. B Govt. College, Nathdwara, Udaipur for standing first in their respective Groups.
Rajeev Shukla, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Planning presided over the function and distributed prizes to the students/ institutions for their meritorious performance in the Competition. On this occasion, the students of DAV College, Jalandhar, Punjab which stood first in the Competition, presented a short sitting of “Youth Parliament”.
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has been organizing Youth Parliament competitions in Universities/Colleges since 1997-98.
Teams of judges which included MPs/Ex-MPs/MLAs/Ex-MLAs/MLCs/Ex-MLCs along with Officers of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and academicians of repute from non-participating Institutions evaluated the performances of the Institutions.

P M sanctioned Rs.2 lakh each For The Victims Of stampede In Datia District, Madhya Pradesh.

The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had expressed his deep anguish over the loss of lives in the stampede on 13-10-2013 at Ratangarh Mata Temple in Datia District, Madhya Pradesh.
The Prime Minister has since, after clearance from the Election Commission of India, sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs. 50,000/- each to the seriously injured persons from the Prime Minister`s National Relief Fund.
