Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati on Sunday hit out at the Congress for accusing her party of having a tacit understanding with the BJP, saying the ‘C’ in its name stands for “cunning”.
In a series of tweets in Hindi on Sunday, Mayawati said, “The Congress, which is running on oxygen in Uttar Pradesh, says that the B in BSP stands for BJP. This is highly objectionable as the B in BSP stands for Bahujan, which comprises of SCs, STs, OBCs and religious minorities. Since their numbers are high, they are called Bahujan.”
The C in Congress actually stands for ‘cunning’ party which left Bahujans helpless and made them slaves despite forming governments at the Centre and in states for a long time due to their votes.
Mayawati alleged that as long as the Congress, the BJP or the Samajwadi Party are in power in Uttar Pradesh, no election can be held in a free and fair manner.

BSP chief Mayawati Friday urged all legislators to rise above party politics and raise issues of public interest and focus on the “dismal” state of law and order.This demand is in the wider public interest, she said in a tweet.
“Though the issue of development is largely missing from the agenda of the government, but do raise your voice on oppression of women and killings of members of Dalit, Muslim and Brahmin samaj and other atrocities, meaning the dismal state of law and order in UP. This is the demand of time,”
The three-day monsoon session of the legislature began under strict COVID-19 protocols Thursday. Members and staff of the Assembly and Council wore masks and maintained social distancing on the first day.

BSP president Mayawati on Tuesday condoled the demise of Madhya Pradesh governor Lalji Tandon, saying he was a very cultured and social person.
Tandon died at a hospital early Tuesday morning. He was 85.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief extended her condolences to the bereaved family.
It was in August 2003, when Mayawati as the then Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister had tied ‘Rakhi’ on the occasion of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ to Tandon, who was then the Union housing and urban development minister.
Raksha Bandhan is a festival to celebrate any brother-sister like relationship in which sisters tie a talisman, or amulet, called the ‘rakhi’, around the wrists of their brothers, symbolically protecting them.

बसपा की सुप्रीमो और पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री सुश्री मायावती ने उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार के बजट को जनता की अपेक्षाओं के साथ छलावा बताते हुये कहा है कि बजट में सरकार ने जो बड़े बड़े वादे और दावे किये हैं वे पूरी तरह से खोखले हैं।
उत्तर प्रदेश की योगी सरकार के वित्तमंत्री सुरेश खन्ना ने मंगलवार को विधानसभा में बजट पेश किया। राज्य की पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री मायावती ने बजट पर प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त करते हुये ट्वीट कर कहा, ‘‘उप्र सरकार का आज विधानसभा में पेश बजट जनता की आशाओं व आकांक्षाओं के साथ छलावा है। इस बजट से प्रदेश का विकास और यहां की 22 करोड़ जनता का हित एवं कल्याण संभव नहीं है।’’
गौरतलब है कि उत्तर प्रदेश के वित्त मंत्री ने विधानसभा में वित्तीय वर्ष 2020-21 के लिये मंगलवार को 5,12,860.72 करोड़ रुपये का बजट पेश करते हुए इसमें 10,967.80 करोड़ रुपये की नयी योजनाओं का प्रावधान किया है।

Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati on Sunday fired a fresh salvo at Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Aazad and accused him of affecting the party votes.
Mayawati wondered why Aazad, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was participating in the protests outside Jama Masjid in Delhi instead of doing it in the state.
“This is because assembly election is around the corner here (in Delhi),” Mayawati said in a series of tweets.
The Dalits are of the view that Bhim Army’s Chandrashekhar is playing at the hands of the rival parties, and as a part of conspiracy, when the polls are around the corner, he stages protest and then goes to jail to affect the party’s votes in states where BSP is strong,
The BSP leader appealed to her party workers to be cautious of “such selfish elements, organisations and parties”.
“Such elements are never inducted into the party no matter how efforts they make,” she said.
