Collection of toll-taxes without completion or proper maintenance of highways Is Questioned In Lok Sabha . Even Speaker of the Lok Sabha Smt.Sumitra Mahajan,, also directed the Govt to look into the concerns
The Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Shri Krishanpal Gurjar ,in his reply, said that there is provision in the Concession Agreement of some projects for collection of user fee on partial completion. Sharing the concern of the members the Minster said notices have been issued to the concessionaires who did not maintain national highways properly, even in cases while they undertake upgradation of four lane roads to six lanes.
The Speaker of the Lok Sabha Smt.Sumitra Mahajan, in the Chair, also directed the Minister of Road Transport & Highways to look into the concerns of the members about collection of toll-taxes without completion or proper maintenance of highways
In reply to another question Shri Krishanpal Gurjar said there is a provision for revision for user fee annually with effect from 1st of April every year.
