Govt blacklisted three Madhya Pradesh-based NGOs
Three NGOs located in Madhya Pradesh have been blacklisted after due process, the government said, after stating other instances of improper functioning of the NGOs.
In his reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla said that three NGOs located in Madhya Pradesh were defaulters and they have been blacklisted after due process.
Responding to another question, he said that there have been some instances, where improper functioning of the NGOs have come to the notice of the government.
Show cause notices were issued to such NGOs and further release of funds is stopped to those NGOs, who are found misappropriating funds, Sampla said.
He further said online process portal for applications of NGOs is in operation since April 1, 2014 and NGOs are required to submit their applications for grants online, which is mandatory.
