Ministry of Environment and Forests Puts Zoos Online
Environment Minister launches Online Portal for grant of recognition and monitoring of zoos
Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar Says that this Portal will bring transparency and accountability in the process of recognition of Zoos in the Country
Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Shri Prakash Javadekar here today launched an Online Portal for Grant of Recognition to Zoos and Monitoring of Zoos.
Shri Javadekar also launched an E- archival and retrieval Management system for the Central Zoo Authority and a book on “Zoos in India 2014”.
The portal intends to reduce the bottlenecks of manual recognition system and fully automates the recognition process. This would help in saving time and resources, make record keeping communication easy and convenient and reduces the need of human intervention and thus probability of errors and delays. It would increase transparency, efficiency, accountability and also reduces the use of paper.
The E-Archival and Retrieval Management System is systematic approach to the management of files which is essential for organizations to protect and preserve files. E-Document Archival & Retrieval Management Information System ensures that information can be easily preserved and maintained for future use.
The book “Zoos in India, 2014” – Legislation, Policy, Guidelines and Strategy 2014 is an attempt to help in better management of existing zoos and facilitate creation of better zoos in the country in future and is a useful publication for all the stakeholders.

[नई दिल्ली]सीमान्त छेत्रों में, रक्षा परियोजनाओं को ,पर्यावरण मंत्रालय के अनावश्यक प्रतिबंधों से नीतिगत मुक्ति मिलेगी
भारतीय सीमाओं की सुरक्षा के लिए सीमान्त छेत्रों में रक्षा परियोजनाओं को पर्यावरण मंत्रालय के अनावश्यक प्रतिबंधों से मुक्त करने के लिए प्रयास शुरू कर दिए गए हैं |
श्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने आज सावधानीपूर्वक और दोहराते हुए मीडिया को बताया है कि अब वास्‍तविक नियंत्रण रेखा(एलएसी) से 100 किमी की दूरी तक सीमा सड़क एवं रक्षा परियोजनाओं के लिए सामान्‍य स्‍वीकृति +नीति फ्रेमवर्क में पर्यावरण स्‍वीकृतियों के निर्णय लिए जाएंगे+रक्षा सचिव, श्री आर.के. माथुर + पर्यावरण और जलवायु परिवर्तन के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने सूचना और प्रसारण (स्वतंत्र प्रभार), पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) एवं संसदीय मामलों के राज्यमंत्री श्री प्रकाश जावडे़कर से 12 जून, 2014 को नई दिल्ली में मुलाकात की।इस मीटिंग के बाद पर्यावरण वन एवं जलवायु परिवर्तन राज्‍य मंत्री श्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने बताया कि फास्‍ट ट्रेक प्रणाली में पर्यावरण अनुरक्षण को रोके बगैर वास्‍तविक नियंत्रण रेखा(एलएसी) से 100 किमी की दूरी तक सीमा सड़क एवं रक्षा परियोजनाओं के लिए मंजूरी देने के लिए नीतिगत फ्रेमवर्क तैयार किया जा रहा है। पर्यावरण भवन में अपने दौरे के दौरान प्रैस को संबोधित करते हुए पर्यावरण मंत्री ने यह बात कही।
इससे पूर्व पर्यावरण मंत्री ने रक्षा सचिव तथा पर्यावरण मंत्रालय के अन्‍य वरिष्‍ठ अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक की थी।
श्री जावड़ेकर ने आगे स्‍पष्‍ट करते हुए बताया कि पर्यावरण स्‍वीकृतियों की प्रक्रिया विशेषकर रक्षा परियोजनाओं के लिए मंजूरी देने में विलंब को कम करने की दृष्‍टि से यह व्‍यवस्‍था जरूरी थी। यह एक ऐसा प्रयास है जो पर्यावरण संबंधी स्‍वीकृतियों को सरल, पारदर्शी, मान्‍य प्रक्रिया बनाने में सहायक होगा। आगे बढ़ने की दृष्‍टि से मंत्रालय मामला दर मामला मंजूरी की अपेक्षा पॉलिसी फ्रेमवर्क के माध्‍यम से निर्णयों को अंतिम रूप देगा।
पर्यावरण मंत्री ने बताया कि पॉलिसी फ्रेमवर्क का ब्‍यौरा शीघ्र ही तैयार करके सार्वजनिक कर दिया जाएगा।

President gave Guru Mantra , Of Mother Earth ,to The Probationers of Indian Forest Service

President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee ,today, gave Guru Mantra to Probationers of Indian Forest Service and asked them to honor mother earth and pay urgent attention to the problems such as [1]environmental degradation, [2]global warming, [3]ecological imbalances etc
A group of 79 probationers of Indian Forest Service of 2012 batch called on the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee today (August 6, 2013) at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion, the President congratulated the probationers on their success in a very difficult examination. He emphasized that urgent attention needs to be paid to problems such as environmental degradation, global warming, ecological imbalances etc. He stated that while we will have to place our view point in international discussions, we cannot ignore the need to put in our own efforts to save ourselves.
He stated that this is a lesson which we can draw from the Uttarakhand tragedy.
The President reminded the probationers of the words of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi, who said that mother earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed. He said that the scientific temperament, knowledge and expertise which the probationers would gain during their years of service would enrich the nation as a whole and we shall be able to build up the desired world we would like to see.
These probationers are presently undergoing their training in various aspects of sustainable management and administration of forest, wildlife and environment at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun.
They are in Delhi from August 5 to 7, 2013 for a course in ‘Parliamentary Processes and Procedures’ organized by the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training at Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training, Parliament House Complex. Out of 79 probationers, 2 are foreign trainees from Bhutan and 22 are lady officers. These probationers come from diverse educational backgrounds including Forestry, Engineering, Agriculture, Life Sciences and among them four are PhDs.
Also present on the occasion were Dr. V. Rajagopalan, Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forest, Shri K. Jude Sekar, Director General of Forests and Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests and Shri R.K. Goel, Director, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun.
