The grievance cell of Ministry of Food Processing Industries task force has been taking up these issues with the respective state governments and other relevant authorities including Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs
A dedicated task force and a grievance cell was set up in the Ministry, which consisted of senior officials of the Ministry and members of Invest India. Industry could reach out to the grievance cell directly or through various industry associations. The major issues which were received at the grievance cell included issues related to
Plant shutdowns due to lockdown
Logistics related issues, warehouse shutdown
Non availability of labour
Movement of staff and workers
The Ministry received various issues during VC interactions with cold chain promoters, on which the task force has promptly reacted and have taken up the issues with all the relevant stakeholders. Various steps were taken keeping in mind the necessities of food and allied industry to recoup with the new normalcy.
MoFPI is also a member of the Empowered Committee on Logistics and Supplies, and has been working to ensure that harvested agriculture produce can be supplied to the industry so that farmers are benefitted. Ministry of Food Processing Industries has taken several measures to ensure that the Food Processing Industry has been impacted minimally due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Smt Badal Inaugurates 2nd Mega Food Park in Maharashtra

[Delhi]Mrs Badal Inaugurates Another Mega Food Park in Maharashtra
Union Minister Smt Harsimrat Kaur Badal today inaugurated the second Mega Food Park in Maharashtra. This is Promoted by M/s Paithan Mega Food Park Pvt Ltd, The first Park was inaugurated on 1st of March 2018 in Satara district.
The Paithan Mega Food Park Park has been set up in 102 acre of land at a cost of Rs. 124.52 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Badal said that the Mega Food Park will leverage an additional investment of about Rs. 250 crore in 25-30 food processing units in the park and would eventually lead to a turnover of about Rs. 450-500 crore annually. The Park will also provide direct and indirect employment to 5,000 persons and benefit about 25,000 farmers in the CPC and PPC catchment areas.

Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Smt Harsimrat Kaur Badal has appealed to all Food Processing Industries across the country to contribute generously to the Kerala cause here today.
Smt Badal had also earlier requested companies to come forward in response to which ITC and Britannia have delivered 3 lakh packets of biscuits to State Government of Kerala yesterday. The packets were delivered to officials at Trivandrum, Kochi and Malapuram for further distribution to the affected people of the state.

As per information provided by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the term ‘fast food ‘is not defined under Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act, 2006
The implementation and enforcement of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 primarily rests with State/UT Governments. Random Samples of food items are being drawn by the State Food Safety Officers and sent to the laboratories recognised by FSSAI for analysis.
FSSAI is operating food import clearance facilities at six locations viz.
Delhi,
Mumbai,
Kolkata,
Chennai, Cochin and
Tuticorin.
The imported food consignments referred to FSSAI for clearance by the Custom Authorities are subjected to inspection and sampling by Authorised Officers of FSSAI.
The materials imported for the preparation of products sold under Fast Food Business include:
a) Food ingredients: Paste, puree, sauces, spices, seasoning mixes, pasta, noodles, vegetable extract powders, batter mix, edible oils and fats, frozen vegetables, etc.
b) Food Additives: Emulsifiers, stabilizers, thickening agents, flavours, humectants, leavening agents, colours, preservatives, antifoaming agents, sequestering agents and buffering agents, etc.

Giving Two Years Report Card Of Her Ministry Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal Says ,Ministry of Food Processing Industries Will Reduce Wastage Of Eatables @ Rs 9200 Croes Every Year .She Highlighted Projects Of Swadeshi+Sampada.
Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal along with MoS Food Processing Industries Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti held an interactive session with media and highlighted various initiatives of the Government. Minister said that one of the major achievements in regard to transforming Food Economy through Food Processing has been creation of huge 32 Lakh MT Capacity worth Rs.9000 crores within two years which shall reduce wastage by 10% per annum i.e. Rs.9200 crores every year.
India has started moving toward Zero Tolerance of Food Wastages. Emphasizing the need to adopt Zero Tolerance on food wastages by all departments connected to food, Smt. Badal said that initiatives of MoFPI have now started bearing fruits and her target is to bring down the food wastages to zero level.
She highlighted the way she piloted the 100% FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) into Multi Brand Retail of Swadeshi Food produced and manufactured in India as one of the major steps along with the creation of huge capacity by way of 37 Mega Food Parks and 134 Cold Chain projects.
Further, Minister also announced that Ministry shall be announcing 100 Cold Chain Projects and a SAMPADA scheme focusing on seamless agri cluster development in the current year that shall take food processing industries to the next level.
Government has sanctioned 37 Mega Food Parks out of which 8 have been operationalized (6 in 2 years of NDA tenure vs 2 in 10 years of UPA tenure).
Out of 134 Cold Chain Projects sanctioned 81 have been completed (44 in 2 years of NDA tenure vs. 37 during UPA tenure). Through Cold Chains alone, we have added a capacity of 1.28 Lakh Metric ton of Cold Storages/CA/MA, 53.05 MT per hour of Individual Quick Freeze (IQF), 19 lakh litres per day of Milk Processing and 240 Reefer vans, said the Hon’ble Minister.
A Special Fund of Rs.2000 crores has been set up in NABARD to make available affordable credit to agro processing units in the designated food parks.
Minister also announced that the Ministry shall be launching a Mobile App to provide ONE STOP information to farmers/ entrepreneurs to provide necessary skill set to them for setting up food processing units.
Briefing about tax incentives Minister said that in last two years, Excise Duty on machinery for processing has been reduced from 10% to 6%.

i)Appointment of Sailesh, IAS (AM:1985), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs as Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India vice C. Chandramouli, IAS (TN:1985) on his completion of tenure on 08.01.2016, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary for a period till 28.07.2017 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
ii)Assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries to Shri Siraj Hussain, IAS(UP:1979), Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare during the absence on leave of Ranglal Jamuda, IAS (OR:1981).
iii)Appointment of Amitabh Kant, IAS (KL:80), Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion as CEO, NITI Aayog, after his superannuation.

सूखे की आहट से त्रस्त केंद्र सरकार ने किसानो की राहत के लिए खोले खजाने के द्वार

भारत सरकार के किसानो से सम्बंधित मंत्रालयों में लगता है कि एक दूसरे से आगे निकलने की होड़ लगी है तभी सूखे की आहट से त्रस्त मंत्रालयों ने किसानो की राहत कार्यों को प्राथमिकता देनी शुरू कर दी हैं| खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योग मंत्रालय को भी खाद्य प्रसंस्करण क्षेत्र को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए 2,000 करोड़ रुपये का आवंटन किया गया है |इसके आलावा कृषि मंत्रालय दवारा कमजोर मानसून/वर्षा कम होने की स्थिति में ५२० जिलों में आकस्मिक योजनाएं तैयार की हैं और किसानों की आपात जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए कृषि विज्ञान केंद्रों को 40882 क्विंटल बीज उपलब्‍ध कराएजा चुके हैं|
शिरोमणि अकाली दल कोटे से खाद्य प्रसंस्करण मंत्री श्रीमती हरसिमरत कौर बादल ने खाद्य प्रसंस्करण क्षेत्र के लिए 2,000 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित करने का स्वागत किया है। वे नाबार्ड के जरिए दिए जा रहे कर्ज से खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योगों को जोड़ने के लिए तरफदारी करती रही हैं तथा इसे सही दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण कदम के रूप में देखा जा रहा है। श्रीमती हरसिमरत कौर बादल ने विश्वास प्रकट किया कि इस आवंटन से देश में खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योगों को बहुत प्रोत्साहन मिलेगा।
संसद में वित्त मंत्री श्री अरुण जेटली ने 2,000 करोड़ रुपये के आवंटन की यह घोषणा की है|
खाद्य प्रसंस्करण मंत्री के अनुसार खाद्य प्रसंस्करण को कृषि क्षेत्र के लिए वृद्धि का इंजन बनाना उनकी सरकार की प्राथमिकता है ताकि किसानों और उपभोक्ताओं को फायदा हो तथा प्रसंस्करण करने वाले भी फले-फूलें।
इसके अलावा .फसल कटाई के बाद के नुकसान रोकने के उपाय भी किये जा रहे हैं |
कृषि और खाद्य प्रसंस्‍करण उद्योग राज्‍यमंत्री डॉ. संजीव कुमार बलियान ने राज्‍यसभा को एक लिखित उत्‍तर में बताया कि सरकार ने फसल कटाई के बाद होने वाले नुकसान को रोकने के लिए अनेक उपाय किए हैं। इनमें फसल परवर्ती बुनियादी सुविधाएं जुटाने को प्रोत्‍साहित करना+कृषि विपणन ढांचे के अंतर्गत समेकित मूल्‍य श्रृंखला के हिस्‍से के रूप में शीत भंडारों के निर्माण के लिए सब्सिडी देना जैसे उपाय शामिल हैं। लघु कृषक कृषि व्‍यापार संघ ने भी शीत भंडारण इकाइयों के लिए परियोजनाओं को मंजूरी प्रदान की है। खाद्य प्रसंस्‍करण उद्योग मंत्रालय भी शीत भंडारण श्रृंखला, मूल्‍य संवर्धन और परिरक्षण ढांचा कायम करने का एक कार्यक्रम संचालित कर रहा है।
इसके साथ ही सीआईपीएचईटी ने टमाटर प्रायोगिक संयंत्र की स्‍थापना की है ताकि ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में खाद्य प्रसंस्‍करण उद्यम के रूप में मूल्‍य संवर्धन शुरू करने के लिए किसानों/उद्यमियों/युवाओं को प्रशिक्षण दिया जा सके।
सरकार ने शीत भंडार श्रृंखला विकास के लिए एक राष्‍ट्रीय केंद्र की स्‍थापना की है जो ऐसे भंडारों को तकनीकी मार्गदर्शन प्रदान करता है और ज्ञान संप्रेषण गतिविधियों का संचालन करता है। यह केंद्र विकास के मामलों में उद्योग की कठिनाइयों को दूर करने के उपाय भी करता है।
