[New Delhi] Center Claims Installing 49 Lakh LED Lights In 28 States
49 lakh LED street lights have been installed till date, covering 28 states/UTs under the Street Lighting National Programme (SLNP). This Programme was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 5th January 2015, aiming to replace 1.34 crore conventional street lights with energy efficient LED lights by March, 2019.
SLNP is being implemented by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture company of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under Ministry of Power.
As per EESL no specific problems have been encountered in the implementation of SLNP.
This information was given by the Minister of State (IC) Power, Shri R K Singh in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha

[New Delhi]Rural Elect Corp To Organise Short Film Contest For SAUBHAGYA‘
Pradhan Mantri Har Ghar Sahaj Bijli Yojana (SAUBHAGYA) has been launched by Government of India with the objective of achieving universal household electrification by providing last mile connectivity to all household in rural and urban areas by March 2019.
Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), a Navratna Company functioning under the purview of the Ministry of Power, is organizing a ‘Short Film’ making contest to create awareness about the SAUBHAGYA scheme and to involve general public as ambassadors of the programme. The Submission of Entries starts from 10th January, 2018 and the Last Date for submission is 31st January, 2018.

Power Ministry Electrified 174 Villages During Last Week ; 9,134 Villages Electrified till date under DDUGJY
As per Power Ministry 141 villages have been electrified across the country during last week (from 18th to 24th July 2016) under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY).
Out of these electrified villages,
12 villages belong to Arunachal Pradesh ,
82 in Meghalaya,
15 in Assam,
12 in Uttar Pradesh,
3 in Mizoram,
18 in Jharkhand,
3 in Rajasthan ,
11 in Odisha and
15 in Bihar,
1 each in Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh .
Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has alerted its consumers of fraudulent websites selling 9W LED bulbs under the name of Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) programme.
These websites are not associated with the UJALA programme of EESL which is a public energy services company, under the administration of Ministry of Power.
As per Ministry Two websites –
[1] www.philips-led-at-10rs.in and
[2] pbs.twimg.com/media/CoGI9txWIAAybuk.jpg
are misleading consumers by promising them of providing LED bulbs as low as Re 1. They are not only using copyright images of UJALA logo but also Prime Minister Narendra Modi picture to deceive the consumers.

As Per Ministry Of Power ,142 villages have been electrified across the country during last week (from 13th to 19 th June 2016) under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY). Out of these electrified villages,
6 villages belong to Arunachal Pradesh ,
80 in Assam,
16 in Jharkhand,
15 in Meghalaya ,
5 in Rajasthan ,
8 in Odisha,
3 in Uttar Pradesh ,
5 in Bihar,
2 in Karnataka ,
1 each in Chhattisgarh+ Himachal Pradesh .

196 villages have been electrified across the country during last week (from 21st to 27th March 2016) under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY).
Out of these electrified villages,
75 in Assam,
22 in Arunachal Pradesh ,
22 in Bihar,
20 in Chhattisgarh,
16 in Odisha,
16 in Jharkhand ,
11 villages in Uttar Pradesh,
9 in Madhya Pradesh ,
4 in Manipur and
1 in Rajasthan.
In view of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s address to nation, on Independence Day, Government of India has decided to electrify remaining 18,452 un-electrified villages within 1000 days i.e. by 01st May, 2018.
