CISF Lodged FIR[432/15 U/S143,147,148,326,302,149IPC] Against AAI Fire Service Staff And Court Of Inquiry Has Also Been Ordered
On 10th June, 2015, at around 2130 IST (0930 pm), an altercation between CISF Personnel on duty at operation’s gate and Fire Personnel turned violent at Calicut Airport. In the ensuing scuffle, a fire arm belonging to a CISF personnel went off killing a CISF head-constable while the official who was holding the fire arm sustained burn injuries on hand and he is hospitalised. The scuffle continued for some time and as a precaution five flights were diverted. Senior officers from MoCA, DGCA, BCAS, AAI and Security Directorate have been rushed to the site to take full control of the situation. The matter is being looked into.
Due to this, five flights were diverted between 2259 IST to 0302 IST (11th June). The normalcy at Airport was restored by 02.15 am and flight operations commenced at 0620 hrs. The first diverted flight landed back at Calicut Airport at 0651 hrs. One enroute flight of Air India was also diverted which also landed back at Calicut at 0801 hrs (11th June).

Minister of Civil Aviation Shri P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju today inaugurated the e-office governance in the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Airports Authority of India’s Single Window Clearance to Communication Masts through SACFA – NOCAS Integration.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the importance of e-governance and elaborated upon the arrangements made in the Ministry of Civil Aviation under this programme. He particularly highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability through which both efficiency and effectiveness are derived. The salient features of the e-office are as under:
Shri V. Somasundaran, Secretary, Civil Aviation gave a detailed account of the e-office programme which was followed by a presentation and as part of the live demonstration an active file was forwarded by the Secretary to the Minister which was cleared by the Minister online.
