Beant Singh’s Assassin “Hawara” Acquitted in Moga

[Moga,Pb] Pb CM Beant Singh’s Assassin Hawara Acquitted in Moga. Jagtar Singh Hawara is facing death
sentence for assassinating former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh,
District and Sessions Judge Tarsem Mangla acquitted jagtar Singh Hawara in the attempt to murder case as the prosecution failed to secure evidence against him.
Hawara was brought from Tihar Jail and produced in the court under tight security.
Hawara and two others had been booked by the police for allegedly trying to kill Constable Jasbir Singh in 2010.
A case had been registered against Hawara and the two under various sections of the Indian Penal Code on January 19, 2010.
The police in its investigation report told the court that the prosecution has not been able to gather sufficient evidence against him.
The other two accused have already being acquitted by the court.

A 35-year-old ex-serviceman was murdered at Thathi Bhai village in Baghapurana sub-division
He was thrashed by some persons at a liquor vend whom he accused of overcharging and selling liquor illegally,
He was retired from the Army last year, was murdered on Thursday night following a spat over the illegal sale of liquor and overcharging,
As per Samalsar police station SHO Bhupinder Singh ,A case has been registered under Sections 302 (murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC against a liquor contractor and four of his aides, .
The victim is a resident of Cheeda village. He went to buy liquor at a vend in Thathi Bhai village. The vend was recently sealed by the Excise and Taxation Department for alleged non-payment of excise duty.
“He saw vendors selling liquor illegally in a pick-up jeep much higher than actual rates. When Victim Beant Singh asked for a bottle, one of the vendors demanded overcharged price for it. This led to a brawl,”
Beant later managed to reach his home where he narrated the incident to his family. He later succumbed to his injuries.
