Prime Minister Of India Narendra Modi Tuesday took to Twitter to pay tribute to former PM Rajiv Gandhi on his 28th death anniversary.

This comes after Modi dubbed Rajiv Gandhi “bhrashtachari no 1” (corrupt no 1) at an election rally earlier this month
Hitting out at the former prime minister’s son and Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his allegations of corruption in the Rafale fighter jet deal, Modi had said, “Your father was termed ‘Mr. Clean’ by his courtiers, but his life ended as ‘Bhrashtachari?No:1’.”
Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by a suicide bomber during an election rally in Tamil Nadu’s Sriperumbudur town on this day in 1991.

Prime Minister Of India Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to address a rally in Rudrapur, is held up at the Jolly Grant Airport as his chopper could not take off due to inclement weather on Thursday,

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a blistering attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of orchestrating violence against BJP workers, claiming she had become jittery

Taking his battle for the Lok Sabha elections to Banerjee’s turf, Modi also accused his political rivals of misleading the distressed farming community through farm loan waivers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday condoled the demise of a prominent Lingayat seer, saying he lived for the people, especially the poor.
The seer of Tumakuru-based Siddaganga Math, 111-year-old Shivakumara Swamiji, who was known as the ‘Walking God’, died Monday after a prolonged illness.
“His holiness Dr Sree Sree Sree Sivakumara Swamigalu lived for the people, especially the poor and vulnerable. He devoted himself towards alleviating ills like poverty, hunger and social injustice. Prayers and solidarity with his countless devotees spread all across the world,”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday attacked the previous Congress government for its inability to bring Kartarpur Sabib under India during partition.
Releasing a commemorative coin as part of the 350th birth anniversary celebrations of 10th Sikh guru Guru Gobind Singh, Modi also came down on the Congress for the 1984 riots that took place following the assassination of the then Prime Minister Smt Indira Gandhi.
He said now devotees do not have to look at the shrine in Pakistan using binoculars and they could visit the place without visa using the corridor.
Guru Nanak passed away in Kartarpur on September 22, 1539.
Former prime minister Manmohan Singh, former chief justice of India J S Khehar and several Sikh leaders were present at the Prime Minister’s residence to participate in the event.
Modi said be it Guru Nanak or Guru Gobind Singh, they have taught us to be on the side of justice.
Following the path shown by them, the central government is trying to get justice for the people who suffered during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Modi said.
“The central government is making efforts to get justice for the period of injustice which started in 1984. For decades, mothers, sisters, daughters and sons have shed tears, the law will deliver justice, wipe (their) tears,” the PM said referring to the riots that took place following the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi.
The PM released a Rs 350 denomination commemorative silver coin to mark the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.
