While Makar Sankranti is a festival in the Hindu calendar which is dedicated to the Sun deity Surya, ‘Magh Bihu’ is when the annual harvest takes place.
“Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous Makar Sankranti full of colours of nature, tradition and culture,”
Pongal is a four-day harvest festival dedicated to the Sun God.
In another Tweet PM Said “Pongal greetings to everyone. May this festival fill everyone’s lives with abundant prosperity. May everyone be blessed with good health,”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted people on Lohri, hoping that the festval brings joy and good health.
“Have a wonderful Lohri. May this special festival bring joy and good health in everyone’s lives,” the prime minister wrote on Twitter.
He posted the message in English, Hindi and Gurmukhi.
Lohri is celebrated in north India on January 13 to mark the end of peak winter and is also associated with the harvest of rabi crops.

Pejawar Math in Karnataka, one of the prominent religious leaders of South India, died on Sunday after a brief illness
The 88-year old swamij, who was closely associated with the VHP’s Ramjanmabhoomi movement, breathed his last at the premises of the Pejawar math in Udupi
The Karnataka government announced a three-day state mourning.
On Saturday night, ,In a hospital, He suffered multi-organ failure following which he was shifted to the Pejwar Math in Udupi as per his wish expressed earlier
From there, the mortal remains of the swamiji were later taken in a bamboo basket to the eight centuries old Udupi Sri Krishna Math.

A massive fire swept through a factory in Anaj Mandi area of north Delhi on Sunday morning, leaving 43 labourers dead and many others injured,
“The fire in Delhi’s Anaj Mandi on Rani Jhansi Road is extremely horrific. My thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones. Wishing the injured a quick recovery,” the prime minister said in a tweet.
“Authorities are providing all possible assistance at the site of the tragedy,”
