(New Delhi)Observe 6th Yoga Day ,on 21st June, at Home: PM Modi
Ahead of the sixth International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged people to observe the day from the confines of their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Noting that this year’s theme is ‘Yoga at home’ and ‘Yoga with family’, he said due to the pandemic, it has to be observed indoors.
Though yoga day celebrations are an occasion of mass gatherings, due to extraordinary times, this year people should observe the day at their homes, he said in a video message.
Yoga Day is being observed on June 21.
He said the pandemic could have affected the mobility, but not enthusiasm

There has been no recent contact between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, government sources said on Friday.
The clarification came after Trump said in Washington that he spoke to Modi over India’s ongoing border row with China in Eastern Ladakh.
On Tuesday, Trump offered to mediate between India and China to resolve the border dispute.
The last conversation between Modi and Trump was on April 4 on the subject of hydroxychloroquine
On Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs made it clear that India is directly in touch with the Chinese side through established mechanisms and diplomatic contacts to resolve the row.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said the four phases of nationwide lockdown have “failed” and not given the results that Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected.
Addressing a press conference, he asked the central government to clarify its strategy as far as opening up of India is concerned and how it intends to support migrants and states.
He said India is the only country in the world which is relaxing the lockdown when the virus is “exponentially rising”.

The two leaders shared their assessment of the damage caused by Cyclone Amphan in both countries. The leaders also discussed the COVID pandemic situation and the ongoing collaboration between the two countries in this regard. Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s support to Bangladesh in addressing these challenges.
PM conveyed his best wishes for the good health and well-being of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the friendly people of Bangladesh.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on Monday greeted former premier H D Deve Gowda on his 87th birthday, praying for his good health and long life.
Gowda, was the prime minister between June 1996 and April 1997,He was born in 1933.
Modi Tweeted “Birthday wishes to our former PM Shri @H_D_Devegowda Ji. Praying for his long life and good health,”
The prime minister also wished Union minister Thawarchand Gehlot on his birthday.
“Greetings to Union Minister Shri @TCGEHLOT Ji on his birthday. May Almighty bless him with a long and healthy life,” Modi wrote on Twitter.

(New Delhi) PM Modi Extends Lockdown till May 3rd
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that the current lockdown will be extended till May 3, saying it is very necessary to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
In a televised address to the nation, Modi said implementation of the lockdown will be strictly ensured in coming days to ensure that the virus does not spread to new areas,
The prime minister said detailed guidelines on implementation of the new lockdown will be announced on Wednesday.
Some relaxations may be allowed after April 20 in places where there is no hotspot, he said.
He said India has managed to contain the spread of infection well due to its holistic approach in dealing with the crisis and sacrifices made by people of the country in the fight produced positive results.
Modi said India received huge benefits from the 21-day lockdown in checking the pandemic and added that the country has dealt with the situation better with limited resources.
The lockdown that came into effect on March 25 was to expire on midnight of April 14.
The drastic measure shone the spotlight on the miseries of lakhs of migrant workers whose journeys on foot from several urban centres to their villages hundreds of kilometres away grabbed headlines for many days last month.
The catastrophic effect of the lockdown on the overall economy and livelihoods of lakhs of migrant workers triggered severe concerns following which a number of chief ministers in their video conference with Modi on Saturday sought some kind of relaxation for a number of sectors.
Late last month, the government announced a Rs 1.7 lakh crore package aimed at providing relief to those hit hard by the lockdown as well as an insurance cover for healthcare professionals handling virus infected people.
